So I was in my counselor office today and basically told me you can only TAG to one UC now?

that is true

This makes since because TAG is a guaranteed admission. Plus it frees up space for other admits and may also help in getting admission decision out sooner.

crap, that means i only get to apply to probably like 2 colleges. are there fee waivers for low income?

Wow 2012 transfer got royally screwed in the anus.

:(

pain.why us?

@UCkittychen why would you only be able to apply to only 2 colleges from this? You get to apply to 3 schools if you’re in the low income range; which doesn’t really have anything to do with TAG in my opinion.

please explain what you mean by this “low income range”. is there some special provision for low income people and TAG?

if not then what do you mean?

If you have low income you get a fee waiver for 3 schools of your choice when you apply to UCs. Income has nothing to do with TAG whatsoever, sorry for the misunderstanding.

coooooool, so then ill, yeah apply to davis via tag & for free and two other colleges for free regularly, cool.

thanks for letting me know that, is there a site i can go to that will let me know that info.

I just double checked the UC admissions site and it’s actually up to 4 lol.

UC will waive application fees for up to four campuses for qualified students who would otherwise be unable to apply for admission. The fee waiver program is for United States citizens and permanent residents only.

Students who qualify for fee waivers and who select more than four campuses must pay $60 for each additional choice.

Apply for a fee waiver
You can apply for a fee waiver within the online application and be notified immediately whether you have qualified. You will need to provide your family’s income and the number of people supported by that income

[University of California - Application fees](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/application-fees/index.html)

Does anyone know if there’s a SEPARATE application that we must fill out for TAG? I remembering hearing that you just put a “check” next to TAG on your normal application. Please clear this up thank you.

^alot of help.

about to start on that now. my mothers income is literally ‘0’.

since they’re making this new rule do you guys think all the other schools will also increase the minimum gpa like sd did? i think that would royally screw everyone over.

3.67 GPA w/40 units done. I’m safe for the most part. I’m going to TAG to UC Davis.

Kind of a bummer 2012 got screwed, but at least that will free up spots for the record amounts of applicants instead of people using TAG at the maximum amount of campuses. Perhaps people will be more selective now and it can help all?

This seems like a good idea to me, provided they also do these two things:

1) Provide a firm “yes” or “no” (like Davis did this year) by November 15.
2) If told “no,” allow you to then TAG (after the deadline) to another UC with different requirements. This deadline would be, say, November 31.

Would be a bummer if you tagged to UCSD using the 1 choice given, and end up not meeting the 3.5 requirement for some reason…Epic failure

Maybe your counselor is wrong, Kitten, like most of the counselors at my school. I’ll try to downplay it until I see legit proof just to be on the bright side.

Man! this is getting worse and worse. I’ve been following CC for a while and the best year for UC transfers was 2007-2008. It just kept on getting worse and worse after that, due to California budget cuts. Can’t imagine it it’ll get worse.

What happened in 07 and 08 that made them so great?
