2012 TAG Thread

Pretty much done listing my classes. What comes next after hitting “SAVE AND NEXT SELECTION”?

also, what about 0 unit classes for which no grades were recorded? I took a class a few semesters ago called “Supervised Tutoring” which is 0 units. You must register for that class just to get help in the college Math Tutoring Lab. There is no grade recorded for that class, do i report it anyway?

@Ferrari they only care about your assist cert GPA.

If its on your transcript, then yes

Hey! So I have to include ALL classes that I’m currently taking this quarter and will be taking in the following quarters? Also, for all the classes that I’ve taken in my previous classes…I put them down as “planned” too, right? Thank you =)

Sorry I meant to say “previous quarters”, not “previous classes”

“Additional comments regarding your TAG application”

Left it blank. shouldnt matter, right?

I registered for Santa Monica College one semester but never took any classes. Do i have to report this?

^Nope, I was in a similar situation earlier this month and my counselor confirmed this.

Hey guys, I am aware we are able to withdraw and resubmit our TAG by the end of tomorrow. However, what if I end up dropping a class this semester sometime after tomorrow? How do I report the change to my class schedule?

^ You update it in january as a W

that month went by very fast, hope everyone who wanted to do TAG got to do so by today.

Does it matter if how I ranked the UCSD colleges on my tag are different from my actual UC application? The thing is, I went along with the recommended tag rankings according to my community college’s transfer center but I realized that they updated their rankings after I submitted my tag.

Will the void my tag? Or will they admit me according to the rankings on my TAG? Or… admit me according to my actual UC application? Really hoping its the latter.

Is every school going to release TAG decisions between November 1-15 because I have heard that some schools do (UC: D,SC,R,I,M) and some don’t (UC: SB and SD) or is that just a rumor?

Umm, my school counselor said that October 15 will be the earliest… dunno though

@Sparkyboy Oct. 15? I’m just hoping for Nov. 1-15 for UCSB.

A question for all you (now) TAG veterans, I want to TAG to UCSD next year but I was checking out their TAG flyer and it said " Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate units earned prior to high school graduation do not apply to the unit limit" This is really worrisome to me because I’m knocking out more than half of my IGETC with AP credit! Does this mean I shouldn’t even bother trying UCSD for TAG?

Hi, I’m new to this website and I’ve been looking through your posts and they are very helpful.
I’m currently a freshman at UCR and want to transfer to Santa Monica College. My reasons are simple… I don’t feel UCR is for me, and I want to go to UCI. I am aware that intercampus transferring is much more difficult than cc transferring, because of TAG. I want to know if TAG really follows up with what it says, does it really GUARANTEE admission as long as you meet the requirements? I also want to know if it will be harder for me to transfer because of the whole quarter system and semester system stuff. I’m taking 13 units which is equivalent to about 8.67 semester units. So will I have to take a lot of units in cc? Thanks :)

…TAG is over.

most schools don’t accept 4 year transfers.

@PrincessDay: Yes, TAG really does guarantee admission as long as you meet the requirements. And just because you are on the quarter system does not mean you will have to take an abnormally large amount of units at cc. For example, if you take 13 units each quarter, you’ll end up with more than 30 semester units by the end of your freshman year which is right on track.
