Thank you for choosing UC San Diego when you submitted the UC Online TAG form in September. I want
to encourage you to take the next step and apply to UC San Diego as a TAG applicant.

The actual University of California application for admission is available now on the UC
website. The deadline to submit it is November 30, 2011. On that application, dont forget to check
the 2 boxes needed to be considered as a TAG applicant at UC San Diego:

1. UC San Diego TAG
2. IGETC

Its important to check both boxes!

As you know, the UC Online TAG form was a way of self-reporting your classes in a preliminary look
at eligibility for the program. Some UC campuses pre-qualify TAG applicants by way of this form.
Please note that as an applicant to UC San Diego, your TAG status will be reviewed at the time the
application for admission is read, and not in advance.

If it turns out that you do not satisfy all the requirements needed to be TAG-eligible, you will
still be considered for admission as a general transfer student. Check our TAG
webpage for up-to-date information about the program requirements. Official admission decisions
will be posted online by the end of April 2012.

So be sure to submit your application and check the 2 boxes for TAG at UC San Diego if you
wish to be considered as a TAG applicant. Remember the deadline is November 30, 2011.

Sincerely,

Admissions and Relations with Schools
UC San Diego"

its quite simple. for a major on such a level as physics, if you don’t finish it at CC and transfer to UC you might be behind because something TWO classes at CC is worth one at UC. For example for Bio Sci at my CC, you must take Bio 1 and 2 at my school to be equivalent to the Intro Bio for Davis. So see if you just was to take Bio 1, not completing Bio 2, you would have to take Bio ALL over again at Davis…

I received the same message from UCSD today. So vague ugh.

QUESTION:
In my TAG with UCSD, I applied as a major in Economics (Management Science). If I don’t end up finishing all the required math courses before I transfer, can I still be admitted into that major and finish the courses at UCSD? Also, If I were not admitted into the major because of these math courses, would the TAG still have me admitted into UCSD as a different major if I meet the GPA requirements?

Thank you so much! This thread is very helpful.

This is kind of late but if I fulfilled my foreign language requirement in high school was there suppose to be a place to indicate that on the TAG application?

I got that ‘vague’ message that is going around except from UCSB. Does anyone know exactly what it means, should I call the admissions office at SB?

Unfortunately this semester is not working out very well for me. I originally started out with 18 units, but dropped my physics class which puts me down to 14 units. Now I’m facing the dilemma of possibly getting a C in my General Chem II class. According to the UC Davis TAG contract, I must earn or B or higher to keep my TAG. At this rate, it’s unlikely that I’ll get a B. If I drop the class, I’ll end up going below full time (Davis TAG wants full time), and earn another W for the semester. So either way, I’ll probably lose the TAG. So my question is, should I drop the chem class and retake it next Spring to preserve my GPA? Or should I stick with the C?

lol I just looked at the number in front of UCR and thought it was 10th… my bad haha. The way it was set up kinda confused me. So is UCI still your number 1 school uckitty

I got my tag for riverside… kind a vague. I dont understand it at all.

^ got the same message. I have to maintain only a 2.5… wow! that is pretty low standard. Good thing, its not my first school choice haha. But its still pretty sweet to have a safety school. @Ferrari what is your major?

^ same as yours. Yeah , pretty low, but that is not my main school, It’s just a backup plan haha. I really hate how you can only TAG one, also one suck thing is that UCIrvine doesn’t allow students to TAG Bus admin. Booo, but my main goal is UCSD Management science.

I got mine today… I can’t believe I got rejected because of one class I thought got covered by my AP score. No safety school for me :(
