hey, be nice ^.

Maybe she was really given that information. No need to be mean.

With a post count of 2, yes.

Yes, my counselor at SMCCD gave me that info. Why would you guys think I lied?
In fact, I am waiting too and I have not heard anything. So it is possible my counselor is wrong too.

Almost the 15th hopefully the next two days go by fast but I know tomorrow will fly by watching football.

the TAG agreement for UCSB says that I should complete all courses in FALL 2011 with a GPA 2.0 or better. I have A’s in all my classes, except Calc. I am not doing well in that class, and was wondering if withdrawing with a W will breach the TAG agreement. Anybody know?

Did anyone get into UCI? I need help with choosing courses and major requirements

so, when we submit our grade updates to TAG how soon will it be before they send a reply to say if we are still eligible, because i dropped a class in a major that says all pre-reqs aren’t even required to be completed.

-poly sci.

Hello everyone,

I am a second year student at Junior College. In November, I received an approved TAG decision for the Environmental Toxicology major at UC Davis (nonselective major). I was thrilled that my tag was approved, but unfortunately, I received my fall 2011 grades yesterday, and I discovered that I received a D in Organic Chemistry. On assist, the course is listed, but it isn’t required to take at a CC, just recommended. I am confused because Davis sent emails to everyone saying to immediately report to undergraduate admissions "“D” or “F” grades received in required transferable courses taken during 2011-12. Will my tag get voided because I didn’t receive a C on one of my IP courses? Should I file for academic renewal at the end of spring 2012? if my tag is voided, can I still get in through regular admissions? I already have more than 60 transferable units. Can I take OChem at UC Davis as a junior? Or will I have to stay at a CC for another year? I have completed IGETC and have completed every course on assist except the ochem series.

Thank you

@raiders91

Your TAG will most likely be voided due to that D grade in Organic Chem.

You should immediately report the D to undergrad admissions and see what they say.

If your TAG is voided, there is a possibility that you might be admitted via regular admissions, but your chances are slim with an unrepeated D on your transcript.

You can attempt to apply for academic renewal, but check your CC’s eligibility requirements for the renewal process. CCs typically require 12-18 months time to have elapsed between completion of the course and academic renewal filing date.

In the future, try to not receive Ds unless you know that you have time to repeat the substandard coursework for a higher grade.

Drop a course by the ‘W’ deadline if you’re not doing well. Honestly, with a class like organic chemistry where the coursework is cumulative (i.e., you need to know everything you learned that semester to do well on the final), you should be able to tell whether or not you’ll pass the class mid-way through the semester.

If you find that you’re not accepted to any of the schools of your choice this year, just try again next year.

@asphyxiac: The AR policy at my school makes it so I can file for AR after I have completed 20 units since I received the last substandard grade. So I’d have to take 20 units in spring 2012. WIth AR, my gpa goes from 3.16 to 3.32. I am going to write this on my transfer academic update. I am hoping that davis accepts me and I am able to take ochem at davis. Do you think I can still get into state schools like csueb and sjsu?

Although your GPA will increase to a 3.32 after AR, UC Davis won’t see that until after admissions decisions have already been sent out. You could always appeal for admission after receiving AR, if you receive it before their appeal deadline. As for CSUs, yeah - you have a shot. Apply broadly if you have the means to do it and are anxious to get out of CC.

Hi all! I have a quick question. So on my tag I only listed the one AP score I had that was passing ( for english) and I know when you submit your tag they make a big deal about listing all your info so should I withdraw it to list all my ap test and resubmit it? Or should I just withhold my other AP scores?

I currently have 25.00 Units from classes at a CC, plus 5.33 units of AP credit from AP Lit in High school. Then I read this line from the UCSB agreement,
“Applicants must have completed 30 UC -transferable semester units (excluding AP/IB/A Level units) prior to TAG submission and complete the last 30 of 60 or more UC-transferable
semester units in residence at a California community college.”

Does this mean I can’t apply for their TAG even though I have 30 UC-T units overall? I’m a little confused by that agreement since I’ve never heard it before.

If it says “excluding AP/IB/A level units” then you can’t count it in your 30 required units minimum for TAG.
