Who here already submitted their TAG application

Before submitting the application do we have to add planned spring courses even if we’re not sure which ones we’re going to take?

I’ve had such tunnel vision toward going to UCLA I have not put much thought into other UC’s. I’m going to need to do some research for sure.

Can someone please verify if i’m eligible or not by looking at my last post with the picture link? ^_^

@ Angieyeh- Every class means every class add it with the class add function under coursework tab

@TallLudwig718- I’d say your overqualified for humanities and such, but i believe you have to take English 2 or the Eng2b whatever its called at ur school, your math section is fine and yes you can submit a TAG as long as you got most ur pre-reqs done by the end of spring 2012. Also keep your GPA above 3.2 and you should be admitted to whatever UC except the big 3. My app looks almost identical to yours, the C’s really kill you eh?

@Rockoz- dude I’m telling you right now look into other UC’s just visit them in person and talk to the current students (walk around campus, check out the library). I also had a one way view on attending UCB but after visiting it and talking to the people, found out its not my pot to mix with. Also if you got friends at other UC’s just spend the night with them. You will know which school is right for you after visiting, you can feel the atmosphere around you, whether it be good or different.

@Jiggaloww my question is mainly on the quoted part of the UC Davis tag and my information. It said we cannot take more than 120 units. What do you think? My ASSIST-Certified is 120 units total, but what about the others?

Just curious, has anyone else at a LACC taken Philo. 6? If so, has it listed the class under humanities? The TAG lists it as one thing, but assist’s igetc says something else entirely (I.E. it’s poop unless you need UC transferable units).

TaLLLuDWiG718

…im confused.

i already told you community college students can take as many units as they wish.

follow the matrix:

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/counselors/files/ETS11_TAGMatrix_rev070111.pdf

Students with CCC coursework and non-CCC coursework within the U.S.

Yes, provided student does not exceed 80 semester units of combined 4-year and community college coursework, excluding AP/IB credits (unit limit does not apply to the College of Engineering).

@UCKittyChen the problem is, I’ve taken my first quarter of college at Cal Poly SLO, so I can’t take as many units as I want since I havent taken all my courses at a CCC. So knowing that 120 units is the cap, does it look like im still eligible?

The Non-Assist certified course, if included in the tag, which is my 4-year university coursework, but it is also Earth Science specific major courses, would make my unit total larger than it should be. Will they still include it? I have a GE course of Physical Geography in the 4-year non-assist certified course as well. If they include any of these classes I will be past the 120unit limit. So I’m still confused as well whether or not they’ll include the classes from my 4 year even though they’re not assist certified.

there is no minimum. there is no maximum.

so yes if you exceed 80/120 units, you will not be eligible for TAG.

Minimum is 30 for TAG, and 60 prior to transfer lol

nahh, were talking about if you have taken courses at 4 year universities.

I’m saying there is no minimum threshold before disqualification with 4 year credits, and there is no maximum threshold disqualification with 4 year credits.

so he’s pretty much done as far as TAG goes.

done as in… looking at the picture, it seems that i’m not eligible? If IGETC doesn’t matter, maybe they’ll just take the ASSIST certified only because there is no lower-division major courses from Cal Poly (aka the uncertified courses). I hate this. I’ll try to e-mail a UCD Transfer person.

im confused why you are asking if you are just going to result in asking a “UCD Transfer person”

i did madd research for you, cross examined TAG matrix’s and everything. Here is the matrix excerpt:

<a href=“ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs”>ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs;

there is no exceptions. nevertheless, good luck. they are firm on their requirements. Non-CCC units are Non-CCC units regardless of the way you try to reword it.

81+ units including 4 year =/= TAG accept.

however looking at your picture:

http://i55.■■■■■■■.com/5mcyeg.png

it seems with your completed/in progress/planned you are at the absolute maximum via “ASSIST CERTIFIED” aka the only ones that counts. so just STOP at 80 and you will be fine.

it seems with your completed/in progress/planned you are at the absolute maximum via “ASSIST CERTIFIED” aka the only ones that counts. so just STOP at 80 and you will be fine.

SO they DON’T count the Non-ASSIST Certified Courses?

no sir/madam.

I also have the same question as rockoz regarding the planned section in tag for spring 2011. If I am not sure what I am going to take, do i fill it out anyways? What happens if I decide not to take the class that i listed as planned in spring 2011. Will I be able to edit my tag then? Will I be penalized for my action? Also, how does AP work in tag? I’m going to submit my AP score to my CC soon, and I also listed my AP score in the tag application. Do I still need to send an official copy to the tag school?

■■■■ planned is planned, they do not expect UC applicants to be FORTUNETELLERS. They ask that just to see if you have a general idea of what to take before you transfer, or if you finish everything by fall and decide to take spring sem off. Just put some courses you think you will take your last sem (at least 2-3 classes), they will not rape you if you don’t take one or take more than the planned courses. 'Nuff said…

And AP is only sent to the school that you SIR to next May, no need to send anything right now. Submit TAG, take a sip of coffee, write the personal statement and hit this fall semester classes with everything you have…
