It’s not rational? Why not?

Huh, I guess I did lol. I still disagree with considering TAG a privilege though.

You haven’t earned anything they won’t offer. You worked hard and you did earn your guaranteed admission… to ONE school of your choice. Take it in and get over it. You can still get into other schools, but you gotta learn to see it from others’ perspective. Like someone with a 3.1 who’s waiting to see whether they’ll even get into any UC. They’re gonna have a few night sweats in your honor knowing there are kids assuring spots in 5 schools when they really won’t go anywhere but UCLA/Cal in the first place.

It’s a way of leveling the playing field I suppose.

Anyway, since no one helped me out with my question, I submitted my TAG application to UCSD. :)

Is this the first year that there is a one TAG minimum?

Can somebody help me with my TAG application?

just submitted my TAG app!!! ohhhhh man!! let the waiting game begin. haha. good luck to all :)

@Repo
this is the first year that you can only apply for TAG to one school. in the past you could apply to all the ucs except Berkley and LA.

Roy: Doesn’t your community college have counselors? My ccc has had 2 TAG workshops already where the counselors help you set up your account/application and are there if you have any questions. Or we can make appointments with them if we have questions. If you are not able to meet with a counselor, post your questions here and we’ll try to answer them.

how long does the TAG app take to start and sumbit?

they ask u for ur name bday etc. then you put in ur classes and grades. took me about 40 minutes because im a paranoid dude.

Poserbruin: It all depends on how many classes you have to enter. You must enter every single class (college) you have ever taken, even W’s and incompletes, P/NP, etc. I have been attending ccc since 1973, don’t laugh…took may years off, but have over 200 units, so it took me hours. If you just have 3-6 semesters of college classes it won’t take long at all. There are no essays or anything that would take time.

“You must enter every single class (college) you have ever taken, even W’s and incompletes, P/NP, etc.”

Except, you don’t add classes in which you got a NGR (No Grade Recorded). I signed up for 9 units in my time at CC and dropped them with an NGR 3 days after class started.

Counselors at CC and ppl on here both say to not add them.

I’m not in CC yet.
Next year I will be. I’m still a senior in High School.

I made a TAG account for UCSB, but I hear that Engineering transfers aren’t guaranteed admission.

I just submitted my TAG and I’m freaking out a bit.

At the end of the application there’s a list with stuff you have to check off that you have to agree to. After I submitted it I went back to look at the review and I see this:

I’m pretty sure I ticked off everything but yet the last point is not checked off. Will it automatically check off once I submit the application for UCs in November? Is anyone like this too?

AHHHH

Contact your ccc counselor. Most TAG apps are reviewed by the ccc counselor before they are submitted. Plus as you say you will be submitting a UC app so they would figure it out.

Im just curious as tonif anybody else that submitted their TAG encounter this problem as well. Somebody let me know!

Thank you :)

guys,

you can withdraw your application and resubmit, no harm will be done

Thanks Kitty,

Found out I actually DID forget to tick that box… I didn’t know that you could withdraw and resubmit. Big thanks to you. (:

I did the TAG to UCSD, however my GPA right now is 3.41 with 43 units. On the UCSD website, it says that “You must earn a cumulative 3.5 minimum UC GPA earned by the end of Fall term 2011 and maintained through the end of Spring term 2012”. I’m taking 5 classes and 13 units this semester. I did the math and found out that I can get 4 A’s and 1 B and have a 3.5 at the end of this fall.

Should I withdraw my TAG to UCSD and resubmit the TAG with another UC school? Besides UCSD, i’m also considering applying to UCSB, UCSC and UC Berkeley (without TAG of course).

we needa make a sticky of this.

One TAG only this year.
You CAN withdraw your TAG application and resubmit
NO TAG to UC Berkeley or UC Los Angeles

Hi Im new to this site and reeeeallly need help on all of this college stuff, i stumbled on this thread and hopefully my questions might be answered?
Im hoping to transfer to USC spring 2012 but for fallbacks other than berkley and ucla Im going to fill out the TAG agreement. Im majoring in sociology and have no idea what school to pick for the tag agreement, and after reading a couple posts and seeing how some schools still might not accept you even after the submitting tag Im extremely lost on what to do…
any advice?
