2012 Transfer Chance Me! Thread

anyone here go to san joaquin delta college?

@Vikram Any honor society or some honor’s program? Like extra work to get some “connections”?
And I would say the absence of the pre-reqs will pull you down. If the school allows you to switch majors once you get admitted, then do what you can to get in first, then just switch. I think you just have to talk to them anyways.

Vikram you should check out last years stats of people being accepted to UCD. I’m sure 2012 will have similar stats. Don’t apply as psych because you’ll probably get rejected. Apply with a major that you’ve taken a ton of classes in.

I have the most of my classes in Psych BUT I can see if it overlaps with something else. Like sociology. I’m sure I have a good chance with Sociology though!

Sociology is a good major! But idk about the Sociology department at UCD. Impacted or not? Call and ask.

Majorquest: you’re pretty much in.

@Acoustickitty: You made my day but I would still like to get some more opininons, I know assessing OOS students might be tough.

Cmon guys!!! Chance MajorQuest :)

Hey all,

I was wondering if a 4.0 is basically a guaranteed admission at Berkeley or not at all?

I’m applying as a chemical engineering major, the only (non-strict) pre-req I’ll be missing is organic chemistry LAB (I’m taking just the lecture), and I’ll also be IGETC certified, not that it matters for UCB but I hope it’s a plus, if only to show the ability to handle a heavier workload and still get all As.
Do 4.0s get turned down if they don’t have great ECs?
Also I’m international.

I posted mines a while ago. I also want more people to chance me xp

CHANCE ME PUH-LEEZ ^_^
Campus Applying to: [UCD, UCI, UCSD, UCR]

Major: [International Relations (UCD), International Studies (UCI), Political Science/International Affairs (UCR), International Studies - History(UCSD), International Studies - Political Science (UCSD Alternative)]

GPA: [3.19 Overall GPA, 3.25 UC GPA, Maybe around 3.30-3.45 by end of Spring 2011]

School: [Foothill College]

IGETC: [YES Already completed.]

Pre-Reqs: [UC Davis, I will have Pre-reqs complete, in UCI completing pre-reqs are not mandatory but I will have completed all but Microecon before transfer, UCSD doesn’t have major requirements except for language requirement which i will have completed, UCR - the major is not exactly what I want, but I applied as a backup… UCR does not require pre-reqs to be complete.]

TAG: [Submitted – to Davis]

Essays: I think they’re pretty darn, but would a PM if you don’t mind reading it :)

ECs: [20 hours of Volunteer@Elementary School Annex 9th grade, High Honors 10th grade, Deans List Winter 2011, Filipino Club 11th Grade HS, Leadership training class for Pass the Torch, and Pass the torch tutoring as work experience.]

@Tall: what are the chances of you getting a 3.3 by the end of fall?

TaLL, i will chance you in the AM :)

Great chance of getting a 3.3! This quarter my grades will most likely be good, next two quarters it’s a very low work load so probably A’s B+s as well!

TaLL, do you have AIM or Facebook?

yeah get on AIM my AIM is displayed on the side too

OH 3.3 by end of fall, i’d have to calculate it, but with 10 units i’ll probably get all 3 As

Remember that the Fall semester is most likely the last chance you’ll get to improve the GPA that you’ll present towards those college. I am currently at a 3.09 and I’m taking 27 units between two schools in hopes of getting some boost, even though i can only really get 3’38 even if I get all A’s in 27 units.

That’s why I’m relying on TAP too and hoping that linguistics is not that competitive this time.
