I think if you have a 3.25, you have a good chance. Anything lower I would say you have no chance. Competition is tough nowadays. Oh and your major being non impacted has something to do with it. I hope more people with GPAs like yours can post their stats. I have a 3.33

Ferrari + Acoustic, mind chancing me too?

@TallLudwig: Of course
Okay here’s the deal: I posted a while back on this thread that UCs are pretty much accepting the same amount of people they accepted last year despite budget cuts. Please tell me you’ll have a 3.3 by the end of fall 2011. If you do, I’m pretty sure you’re in at all. I have this one transfer counselor who’s like the ultimate chancer (lol) and nearly 99% of the time he can predict if you’ll get in or not. I have a 3.33 by the end of fall and I’m applying to the same schools as you are and he said I’m 90% in at all of them. So I don’t think you need to worry. Your major isn’t impacted whatsoever. Just make sure 3.3+. If you’re applying to UCLA UCB I’d say you have 0 chances…unless your major is anthro or linguistics…because it’s not impacted at UCLA. Good luck. Stop stressing. Im on the same boat lol

dude, UCB > UCLA. If u think u can’t even get into ucla then u can’t get into UCB.
ok sorry for being mean :).

uci yes in but not 100%
ucsb = TAG approved? what can i say? HAHA.

@Forensic: No at UCLA and UCB. Yes at rest! I saw a lot of people get rejected from UCSB with communications. You have tag so you’re fine. By the way, how do you know your tag is approved??

@UCkitty: in at all. Major isn’t impacted at all.

Thanks in advance!

this is my first semester of college. I’m using AP credits and classes taken during the summer to fulfill the unit requirements

College: 4-year university (out of state)

Schools: Cal, UCLA

GPA: Expected 3.89-4.0 (depends if I get a B in a certain class)

Major: Economics

EC’s: not too much. i didn’t bother putting most of my stuff from highschool, and because I’m only in my first semester of college I didn’t have too many things.

Personal statement- my second essay was pretty bad and I may have come off as a huge tool. not sure how badly that will hurt me

no for both. if ur ec + ps are bad.
yes for both if both r excellent to the top.

How difficult would it be if you’re both out-of-state and international?

@^ international student went to a ccc and transfer to a UC = same chance as regular student. The only thing is 2.4 to apply and for inter 2.8.

@^ Took classes out of state(not at a ccc) and try to transfer to a UC = hard :D.

I got skipped ):

@silverex: awesome stats dude! Heard UCLA has a tooooough film production. I would say you’re in if you have awesome ECs and PS to attach with that amazing GPA. I’d say you’re in at all…UCLA you have a good chance…

Can people with GPAs around 3.2-3.3, 3.4 post please? :P

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1251841-extra-transfer-chances-nervous-applicant.html

@silverex.

sorry dude, can’t see it :)

btw your gpa is wonderful. At this point, if you complete ur prereq + 4.0 + a great ps, there is no reason for ANY school to reject you. ( except for ivy league).
haha not much to chance a 4.0 person, u pretty much done ur job, leave the rest to the schools decision.
