2012 Transfer Chance Me! Thread

haha UCSD is a med school feeder school, chemistry is largely impacted. I’m saying about 60-70%

Hey UCKitty, actually, surprisingly Chem isn’t impacted there last time I checked…it’s biological sciences that are impacted and engineering. Correct me if I’m wrong. I thought Chem would be impacted there…called and asked and they said no. Two different admission people. Interesting.

hmmm. well i am seeing quite a few chem majors on here applying to UCSD, even still it’s UCSD, and its a science, I’m saying 60-70%… 70% prereqs done and gpa is 3.3…

@PB,

thanks for the reply. i guess right when i get to UCI, i am gonna have to smack the pavement and start running because i want to do this all in two years and will give blood sweat and tears to get it done, i cannot, i repeat, i cannot await the moment until I arrive to UC.

Agree. I mean it is pretty much every bio majors alt major.

Someone chance me please…

Most of my Major core courses are A’s …
I have completed all of my major core course, expect for ENGR 18, ENGR 4 and 8… which i will complete during Spring semester
I got 2 F’s on my transcript, which I retook and got A’s… one is not transferrable, other is programming.

Also got 2 D’s which are not transferrable … 3 W’s
Reason why I did so horrible the first semester is because of father having open heart surgery, along with grandfathers death

Father: Disabled no income, mother working @ Dennys…
Thank you!

@Dream I’m sorry, but ur chance at UCB is gone. UCLA is unclear, but I’m sure you have real chance at ucsd, uci, and ucr( as always).

I don’t understand why my chances are “gone.” Also, i used academic renewal on the F’s and D’s

i think dream will be pending his progress of ENGR courses, however i am now sure how “pending” works, but if it doesn’t work that way then you will be penalized for not completing the engineering courses, i mean c’mon its berkeley, and thats their specialty…

for more accurate prediction, I need you to confirm which of the courses u have not complete.

[ASSIST Report: MTSAC 11-12 UCB Articulation Agreement by Major](http://web1.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=MTSAC&ria=UCB&ia=MTSAC&oia=UCB&aay=11-12&ay=11-12&dora=ENGMECH)

ENGR 24 , 40 and 42 are the courses I have not completed …

I just finished PHYS 4C , MATH 285, and Chem 51 . (Earned all A’s) … I had to put that on my application as currently taking …
I’ll be taking ENGR 24, 40 and 42 during spring! I just looked @ my GPA and its 3.78

PHYS 2AG, PHYS 4A,B , MATH 180,181,280 ALL A’s… Chem 40 / 50 … All A’s
You think i have a good chance for UCLA? Im just worried about my two F’s and D’s…

@dream how are your essays?

I’m hoping very well, got them reviewed by 5 english professors …

next step i need you to tell me more information. ( why do i ask you so many questions? because i have a friend that transfered their and I know a lot about this.)

Please confirm yes or no :

1/ I will be completed ALLLLLLLL prereq by spring, and i will NOT miss any required courses. [y/n]

2/ My essay is excellent, 9/10, 10/10 and probably 8.5/10. [y/n]

3/ My ECs is excellent, huge, and I learned a lot. Ive done many hours for communities. [y/n]

4/ 3 Ws? In what courses? It is one of the prereq on assist.org?

5/ Undergrade or Grad

@DreamVillen

Disregard those who are saying your shots at Cal are gone. They are utterly wrong.

Two Ds in non-transferable coursework don’t matter, especially if you’ve had academic renewal. The Fs matter, but you repeated both courses, and you had a solid reason that you detailed in your personal statement. 3 Ws will not affect your application, from what I’ve been told by UC admissions officers.

Since you had your PS evaluated by several professors, I would say you’re safe on that front.

You will have all of your pre-reqs completed by the end of Spring 2011, which is fantastic.

I would say, based on the information that you’ve provided and data provided by UCLA and Cal, that you have a strong shot at gaining admission to both of those UCs.

You’re definitely in at UCR, UCI, and UCSD.

Best of luck, and keep up the good work!

I have no issue whats so ever of answer questions… ask away

Please confirm yes or no :

1/ I will be completed ALLLLLLLL prereq by spring, and i will NOT miss any require courses. [yes, ]

3/ My ECs is excellent, huge, and I learned a lot. Ive done many hours for communities. [yes I have many hours for communities

4/ 3 Ws are READ 90, P.E X, and TUTOR 10, which are not a pre-requisite nor transferrable ! }

@^ Your chances are somewhat depend on the luck. I say 50 50. I hope your essay will save you. I saw a lot of people walk out with gpa higher than you. My friend got in with 3.8.

@asphyxiac

Thanks man, I appreciate your response and your kind words… Best of luck!
