2012 Transfer Chance Me! Thread

somebody chance me on page 71 :)

Ferrari, awesome stats bud! Major is good…impacted at UCR…but I’d say you’ll get in since you have great stats. Sorry are you applying to la and Berk?

@Ferrari

USC- Depends (# of W’s, rigorous schedule)
UCB-Personal Statement is going to decide whether you get in or not… I would say 7/10 chance
UCI- 8/10 chance
UCR-10/10
UCSB-10/10
UCSD-10/10

^agree for Ferrari. But is irvine impacted for business? I had no idea…

@iwillflyby why would you take 27 units? What did you expect…a 4.0? If you have over a 3.0 you should be able to get in at least 1 U.C.

@Acoustic

Irvine is EXTREMELY hard to get into for Business Administration. It is almost on par with Berkeley.

Woah. Had no idea. I think Ferrari has good stats for that major. Wonder what the cutoff is for business.

Mind quickly chancing me?

Major: Sociology (not impacted)
GPA: 3.3 after Fall
Applying: UCSD (top choice), UCI, UCR, UCSB.

What do y’all think?

^ I have no idea regarding Sociology. I only chance majors in which I am aware of prior acceptance rates.

Totally understandable.

@Acoustickitty123 Sociology not impacted? I thought it was as impacted as Psychology. I’d say you’re in at UCR, UCI, and UCSB, definitely in at UCR.

Well it’s not impacted at my top choice @ UCSD. No chance? Darn

Honestly you’re the first person I’ve “chanced” lol. And, I’m basing it on how hard it is to get in as a freshman >_<. But, if it’s not impacted at UCSD, then you may have a chance. Your GPA, in my opinion, is too low. Does UCSD have transfer stats available anywhere online?

Yeah. Most people got in with a 3.3 as a sociology major. Hm it’s fine. I like hearing opinions. Thanks though.

@transfer.

woot thanks, good news that I am 100% in at UCR, well atleast I’m guarantee for 1 business school XD. My main goal is to get in as business admin, not much into econ :(

also thx kitty. ^^

Any extra chances for me too! :slight_smile: thanks.

GPA: 3.84
Only one semester of classwork. Extremely tough courseload - chemistry, biology, calculus, just to name a few. 27 units all A’s 1 B in biology…■■■. 21 Units of AP credit.
UC Berkeley and UCLA Philosophy
Prereqs: Doing 3/4 Ucla Pre-reqs offered by all of the CCs in my area.
EC: run my own personal training business, College Track and Field team
IGETC: will be done by spring
PS: talked about how I missed my SIR deadline out of high school and my experiences transitioning from a magnet type school to a community college. Other essay was about how my short stature as a child who loved basketball sparked my interest in genetics. Both were 8.5/10 I’d say.

The admissions officers always say that course load plays a large part in their decisions. Well i took 27 units with mostly science/math courses, shouldn’t that play in my favor?

I just want to know if I’m safe with my stats? My major is philosophy, probably one of the least impacted at both schools btw.

^^The least impacted major for UCLA was Native American Studies. Only 1 transfer applied and got accepted with a 3.28 GPA.

Are you trying to be funny or are you braindead? ^^

what is up with people insulting one another on here? is this how it is at UC? a bunch of arrogant human beings that just insult each other because they disagree with a persons input?

@UCkittychen. Dunno, I guess he assumed I was attacking him?

I assumed that he wanted to know what the least impacted major was – so I was just telling him.

After further looking, actually “Asian Religion” studies was the least impacted major. Average GPA transfer for that major was 3.16!! And only 3 applied.
