If you want to same money I recommend living in cities next to irvine; like Tustin and etc. But also remember the food and the living cost that will also add up.

Any of you thinking of living at home if you choose your local UC?

if I go to ucr I’m living at home. that would save a ton of money

I think I should blame myself for fooling around those past 2 years while at CCC. Seriously, I had tons of chance like getting the job, I even went to interview, but something came up and I told my boss that i quit because of some problems, but there isn’t any problem. Im just being lazy as ■■. I hate depend on my family, my family even said that they will pay for everything, school fees, books, parking, and ect… But I refused all their favors. I think i care so much about saving my face in this society. I just hope i can get a fking job
this summer instead of going to vacation like i planned.

And stress, I’d say. I’d stay in San Diego for SDSU. It does kinda take away from the experience though. Ah well, tough times.

^^ I want the experience too though. I want roommates and to be able to decorate my dorm and I really want to live by the beach in Santa Cruz. I guess taking out a loan won’t be so bad bc most government/school loans don’t have to be paid back until after you graduate.

salmos, when is SDSU releasing those decisions!?

^ Damn man I think they said by March. So at the very least I’ll know if I’m going to college within a month. Problem is they want your Intent to Enroll by May 1st, probably like a couple of days after we get decisions from the UC’s.

How do you deal with that shiit?

i keep checking my web portal. I’m on an acceptance streak, wondering when it will end.

I have a buddy at Mesa who I just talked to today, he says SDSU’s widely known for being late in admission decisions. So if they say by March, they’ll probably send 'em out late March.

At least you already know that short of a catastrophe, you’re going to uni. I have to wait almost 2 goddamn months, and I don’t even wanna think about the people who only applied to UC’s.

March 1st to April 30th… seems to be the date range for UC’s. I’m guessing at the latest May 15th.

^exactly.

l4n, i read you are a minority, i am interested to know which minority if you would like to share.

AA. non traditional student. 31 y.o. with 8 years military experience. Engineering major lol

Living in San Diego now, so if anyone wants the skinny on housing here let me know. I might be looking for my own apartment here myself…

is everyone who applied to UCI able to access this page with no info displayed?

<a href=“UCInetID Secure Web Login - Loading Session Information”>UCInetID Secure Web Login;

^ Mine just says not eligible to apply for housing at this time, no housing offers, etc.

I will be dorming also, hopefully at UCI. Can’t wait.

The Village at UCSD updated the prices for next year today:

Double rooms: $10,166 - includes $2,260 dining plan
Single rooms: $10,966 - includes $2,260 meal plan

I’ll be getting a single if there are any left. Oh, and if I, uh, actually get into UCSD.

I love how ucsb has studio apartments, I’m debating between dorm or apartment. But I heard I should live on campus to experience the full college experience

If it’s 10,966 a year for UCSD, that means we’d be paying a little under 900. The dining plan is interesting. Btw jdom, we apply for housing once were accepted?!?

The dining plan is ~8 bucks a day. Yup, you can apply when you are accepted up until the deadline which I think is June 1st. Then they email you mid June and you can pick your room/floor etc.
