i got accepted on the first day decisions came out and there still is no financial aid award yet. i talked to them online during their online open house (march 29th?) and they said that transfer award letters would begin to go out ~2 weeks from then (the 29th). so that should be sometime this week, hopefully.

cool thanks anexia!

FINALLY ADMITTEDDDD WASSUP WASSSSUP. I’ll post the stats thing later after I prance around in happiness.

My financial aid page says “We were unable to match your UCSB Perm Number with a Financial Aid Application. Either UCSB did not receive your FAFSA or there is a mismatch between your FAFSA data and the Admissions Office’s and/or Registrar’s data…”

Is this normal or do I have a problem here?

Is there anyone still waiting although tagged?

I dont understand why Im still waiting even I TAGGED with them

@robbie, not normal.

@robbie If you’re trying to check ‘My Aid Status’ keep in mind that the only options they have are the '10-'11 and '11-'12 school years. If you’re transferring this fall you’d want the '12-'13 one which isn’t available yet.

Sent from my HTC Evo 3D using CC

finally admitted!
what a painful wait
4.0 GPA Pre-economics
no tag
Good luck!!

^^ nice! congrats! With those stats you better have gotten in. lol!

^^ I really like the way UCSB released their decisions. Whether you had TAG, no TAG, high GPA, low GPA it was all fair game and completely at random. The other UCs are annoying, they create a lot of tension and stress by releasing extremely high GPA, than TAG than…etc etc.

^ i agree. plus they have are continuously releasing decisions!

do we have to complete the courses that we planned on taking for spring quarter even if there non-transferable?

iDizzle, yeah, UCSB’s decision releasing is really good. They actually release it by “rolling”, literally. I mean, all schools have their ways, but I think UCSB got the right idea.

I’m not sure about other UC’s, but aren’t they all random?

[ /list][ b]General Comments: Good Luck everyone! For those who got accepted are you going to do off campus housing or dorms?

fionuhh, are you going to attend UCSB?

If I attend it would be off-campus. Residence dorms are just way too much it would be awesome to be right there on campus and meet fellow students tho

Most likely! It was kind of UCSB vs UH Manoa, but I’m getting braces and need to stay in Cali caliiiiforniaaa. LOL x_x

Yeaaah dorms are SO expensive. I want to dorm b/c I’m lazy and want to be able to just walk to class instead of biking 1 mi +. and easily be able to meet people. But I’m worried I won’t like the on campus food and I’m sort of a health freaaaak on weekdayssss and like to prepare my own meaaals but idkkkkk

Is anyone attending spring insight??

@ Iamsocal: UCI for example only released 2 batches so far. First batch was super high GPA people, than 2nd batch was TAG people. So according to the trend the next batch will be mid range w/o tag, than…rejections. LOL. I don’t even know why I’m scared though, my GPA is not super high but well above the TAG requirement(although I did not apply my TAG to UCI).

@citiz3n: The way I see it, living in SB is going to be expensive either way. If I decide to go to SB I’m either going to try to live in Isla Vista but I feel like there will be way too many distractions there. So I may try to get a place in Goleta, that way its not too far from school and its closer to downtown. My buddy already has a job waiting for me at the Apple store in dt SB, and any other Apple store for that matter depending on where I go. lol
