♠ 2012 UCSB Transfer Decisions Thread ♠

@lawlking Yes I feel like pooping to death. You understand me so well! -_-

lawlking did you get accepted yet?

@fionuhh I see that you have an interest and obsession with feces. But if it floats your boat, go for it.

@Chelzmcnamara. Didn’t get anything yet.

feels like everyone that has been pending since irvine are pending for every other school.

For those who did get accepted, did you get an email notifying you so? Or do we just have to check the UCSB portal everyday hour of our lives to find out. Lol

@fionuhh

I didn’t get an email.

no email for me either.

Have a strong feeling I’ll hear back from UCLA before UCSB, in which case the next 6 weeks are going to suck.

no email either

[] Strengths:Not enough apparently
[] Weaknesses:Too many for UCSB. I have a learning disability.
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:I have no idea. I was ~18 units short of 60 so I’m taking that now. I didn’t think it would be too bad since I have a 3.8. Major isn’t impacted as far as I know. I wonder if they messed up on my GPA? I got a few F’s for NONTRANSFERABLE classes, maybe on accident they calculated it into the GPA?
[/ul]General Comments: Hate.

and uc santa cruz just got back to me today…

i believe they release decision randomly just to mess with us, so hold tight, i’m sure everyone is getting accepted this year…

btw, can anyone direct me where to find stats on 2011 admission decisions by major for transferring students? i’m looking specifically for economics and accounting

@ SanFranciscoKid Holy hell dude, 3.87 GPA and rejected on the first batch?

@SFKid

Did you finish your transferable math and two english courses, or were they IP?

If you didn’t finish those three, that may be why you were denied admission.

SanFranciscoKid: You definitely should give them a call. Why didn’t you TAG?
^Exactly what Asphyxiac said.

Reflection
Strengths: NO idea. Definitely the TAG but I also think my personal statement was incredibly strong, even though I heard UCSB ignores those. The Major Prep was huge too, I assume.
Weaknesses: GPA, One D in first semester of CC.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Major Prep, personal statement, TAG.
General Comments: It’s a great feeling!!! I wish everyone the best of luck!!! Also got into UCSC so I have some decisions to make… It’s surreal!!! Those letters will come guys, I seriously thought I had no chance but some stuff just works out :)

Good luck!!!

Decision is still pending…

@irvine. I made that same statement earlier. Admission decision date is a sadist holiday. On the day of the release, they release it in a certain way to make people panic.

Good Luck!! Congratulations and good luck to everyone who has been working so hard. We’re all going to end up in the right places for ourselves and the future will be bright no matter what!

@TheGiraffe my reaction exactly, especially seeing 3.4 getting accepted here.

@asphyxiac “Did you finish your transferable math and two english courses, or were they IP?”

I finished one English (AP) and had my last English IP. My math was IP as well. I have A’s in both so far but it doesn’t matter now!!! :frowning:

@Acoustickitty123

Who do I call? What number? What do I say?! Why did you reject me?!@!!

WTH? How could education be accepted and not me for the same major? I wasn’t tagged because I didn’t have enough units at the time of application.

I’m still baffled as to why they don’t accept all qualified TAGGers in the 1st batch. It’s supposed to be a guarantee if we meet all the requirements no?
