Me too, this is getting frustrating… 6 more days to go. UCSB is REALLY lagging it this year.

Still… pending.

Anyone else doing ucsb summer transition?!

ok for people that are still pending: Are we a “maybe” to get in considering how many people SIR this year? Or does that mean they just havent looked at our apps yet?

still pending…

Still pending.

I’m totally losing hope. Probably will get notified on the 30th, blah. Heck, will they even have room for anyone left? Geez.

Accepted!!! 4/25/2012 (@10am)
Major: Pre Bio
GPA: 3.87
Prereqs: Complete
IGETC: Certified

There is still hope. I checked 4 times
yesterday and pending, pending pending. I even checked at 1130pm and was still pending. So it is possible. I spoke to admissions and unlike CSUs UCSB does not set a limit to how many they Accept, they set a criteria and all who meet that criteria are accepted. Period.

Good luck all!!!

How do I get more info on Summer session? Is it still possible to sign up?

@DAB456

did they say anything about their Criteria for everyone to meet? Any specifics if its solely on grades or what?

Appreciate the response and CONGRATS on your admission!!

So I stopped checking regularly after UCLA decisions came out, but I randomly checked today and I’m pleased to that I was admitted… …FINALLY!

Decision: REJECTED

Other
Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes
State (if domestic applicant):CA
School Type: CCC
Ethnicity:White
Gender:Male
Income Bracket:Very low, self-supported student.
Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): Low income, good reasons for why I had to transfer and couldn’t go straight from high school.

Reflection
Strengths: 4.0, tons of E.C.'s, work experience, all requirements completed.
Weaknesses:Not a clue really, I did everything I could have.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I really have no clue why I was rejected, I got into UCLA and UCSD and was really not accepting to get rejected from UCSB. Totally clueless at this point.
General Comments: Going to call admissions to see if they’ll tell me if there was a specific reason I was rejected. Really freaking out about Cal’s decisions now…

@jakeinhb, Wow, it’s hard to believe UCSB willing to reject a 4.0 applicant… You are finished with pre-reqs and IGETC ._. Anyways, you should give them a call if UCSB is your first choice! On the positive side, you did get into UCLA XD Don’t worry too much about Cal, you should be fine!

@jakeinhb I guess since you already got in UCLA and SD. SB Admissions thought you are not gonna choose SB.

Still pending >=/ Gonna check out Davis on the 11th though =]

@jakeinhb
that is strange. maybe they made some error? definitely call and find out. ucla was harder to get into than CAL last year. are you going to go to UCLA or UCB if you get in on friday? good luck dude.

Decision: Accepted

Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Ballet (for ~16 years)

Job/Work Experience: Part time beauty/makeup model

Volunteer/Community service: none after HS

Personal Statement: Very good. I had a couple admissions officers at Cal read them and they told me they were exceptional, but I know UCSB doesn’t read them so this doesn’t really matter.

Applied for Financial Aid?: no
State (if domestic applicant):CA
School Type: CCC (25 units from CSU)
Ethnicity: Mixed race (Black, White, Native American)
Gender: Female
Income Bracket: High (parents don’t work but their retirement accounts count as “income” somehow)
Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): none

Reflection
Strengths: my GPA…also my major is a tad bit obscure
Weaknesses: English IGETC requirements and major prereqs not finished
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I have no clue. I know people with higher GPA’s had been rejected for not finishing English and Math before spring, so I thought I would be rejected, but I’m guessing my major may have played a part in my acceptance?
General Comments: I applied on a whim and don’t intend on attending. I’m mainly posting because I have my Critical Thinking in progress and was still accepted.

@Heyhowboutnow

Depends what kind of career you’re interested in

wow, you guys had to wait this long with such high gap’s and all your preregs to get accepted? that must have been brutal. congratulations. seriously.

“ballet 16 years” awesome.
