[]Weaknesses: only one extra-curricular, CSU
[*]Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I’m guessing a combination of a high level of applicants and my being at a CSU. Good luck everyone![/ul]

Oh, whoops, I forgot to use the snazzy template thing…

Decision: Accepted
Date Received: 03/19/2012
Objective:[ul]
[] UC GPA: 3.93
[] Major Pre-reqs Completed: No, missing calculus
[] Intended Major: Psychology
[] TAG: Yes

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]

[/ul]Other[ul]
[] Applied for Financial Aid?: I filled out FAFSA, but I’m definitely going to be paying full price where ever I go…
[] State (if domestic applicant): CA
[] Country (if international applicant):
[] School Type: Community College
[] Ethnicity: Caucasian
[] Gender: Female
[] Income Bracket: Upper middle class; ineligible for any financial aid.
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): None.
[] Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): I’m not sure yet.
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: GPA
[] Weaknesses: I had one bad quarter (2nd quarter at cc) when I was sick and got 1 (2.5 unit class) C, 1 W, 1 P, and 2 F’s. I took spring off then retook the F’s for A’s. So I’ve been at cc for three years total. I explained it in the additional comments box, but I know it doesn’t look great.
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: High GPA.
[/ul]

Decision still pending. I’ll be mad if UCSB denies me as a transfer applicant when they accepted me as a freshman, same with UCI lol. Anyways, I’m happy I finished both Eng 1A and 1B last semester and my AP Calc class was articulated. Didn’t think UC’s would deny you if you didn’t have the completed in the fall. But, it does make sense if they’re IP for spring and you got denied b/c you’re seen as a risky candidate.

Damn you all who got accepted to Pre-Psych and have a higher GPA than me haha jk =P congrats!

I got in but never really thought about taking my english class early, it just kind of happened that way. i guess im lucky. I think there are probably a string of things they view when deciding. They actually called me a few weeks ago and told me I hadn’t listed an Alternate major and asked if i wanted to put one down seeing as though Econ was impacted and it would be tough to get in. They also said that I’d have the ability to switch my major later even if i was admitted under my alternate. I hadn’t even realized i didn’t put an alternate down because i had for every other campus(This is how i know sometimes we forget to put stuff down or check a box on applications sometimes).

What do you know i get accepted into my alternate major. Thank God someone in admissions took an interest in me.

I am sooo happy, I just found out! I’ve wanted to go here since I was 14 and I have afamily legacy with UCSB (dad, brother).

Decision: Accepted
Date Received: 03/19/2012
Objective:[ul]
[] UC GPA: 3.19 I believe, but with a huge upward trend.
[] Major Pre-reqs Completed: All done by Spring 2012
[] Intended Major: English, but I’m going to switch to Religious Studies
[] TAG: Nope
[] IGETC: Yes
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars: PTK, guitar, a mission trip, varsity tennis in high school, Honor Roll for 3 semester in a row
[] Job/Work Experience: Waiter for 6 months and tutored for a few months.
[] Volunteer/Community service: Just the mission trip I went on, built a house.
[] Personal Statement: Good, focused on how the death of my father motivated and matured me.
[/ul]Other[ul]
[] State (if domestic applicant): CA
[] School Type: CCC
[] Ethnicity: Caucasian
[] Gender: Male
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): Dealt with my dad dying of cancer my freshman year.
[] Attending Transfer Admit Day?: Maybe, not sure of the details
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Upward trend of all A’s and 2 B’s after my freshman year (when I was premed)
[] Weaknesses: Cumulative GPA, ECs, Work XP
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think my story really got me over the cusp and the fact that I have a 3.66 GPA at my CC despite my poor GPA at the 4-year I attended.
[/ul]General Comments: Good luck everyone!
