You guys know if waitlist decisions start rolling in on June 1st or does it come slowly after that? The 3 days to reply is so short -_- but I guess it helps weed out those that don’t really care.

^ I think it will be rolling a few days after that. June 1st is the SIR deadline so I feel like they would probably need a few days to assess how much room they have and how many they want to admit.

@ragingzero I want to say that we’ll start hearing back as soon as June 2nd, but Nitole’s answer seems more likely. Unless SD already started making ranges of how many students to accept with X amount of spaces open or started going through our applications again, we probably will have to wait until June 3rd/4th before we start hearing decisions.

@ nitole: wow I might SIR to Davis if I couldn’t get in SD… I can’t wait to experience university life lol. Really praying that we do get into our dream school though! the best of luck to all us waitlisters out there! a few more days to go… fingers crossed

@hrosent1 Congrats! No kidding you shouldn’t have been on it.

But question… did you really get off the waitlist already? I thought they would start telling us June 1st. Did you receive an email?

congrats

@phillipjaichan: Good job man. I’m in the same boat as you. Got kicked out of highschool for crappy grades. Dropped out of my first ccc with like a 1.0 GPA. Went to a new ccc 3 years later and now I’m going to UCLA. Congrats! Yeah, you can always fix your mistakes as long as you admit them and work hard!

If I already SIRed to UCSB, does that mean UCSD will just not consider accepting me since I already SIRed some where?!

Does anyone know how to join/volunteer to a research group in summer for Electrical Engineering major transfer student ?

Please share. Thanks :)

@mango I really don’t know but I would recommend asking on this board [University of California - San Diego - College Confidential](University of California - San Diego - College Confidential Forums)
You would probably be more likely to find an answer there :)

@Kitty

No, they don’t care if you SIR’d elsewhere, esp. if you’re on the waitlist they know you have to SIR somewhere by June 1st and you might not know if you’re off the waitlist by then.

I SIR’d to SD in March and I was accepted to SB, Irvine, and Berkeley after, I don’t think they even check to see if you SIRd elsewhere. (they meaning any of the UC’s)

Does anyone remember when the UCSD waitlist decisions will be posted? My UCSD app page just has my appeal rejection statement :<

@acoustickitty123 no if you get into UCSD from the waiting list, you can cancel your SIR to UCSB and SIR to UCSD. the only downside is that you don’t get the $100 refund or w/e the fee was to SIR. I don’t think you already SIR’ing to UCSB will have any affect on your chances of being accepted to UCSD so no worries :)

@dancemasterv waitlist decisions come out anywhere between June 1 - July 1 (most likely we’ll start seeing decisions in this thread this weekend?). UCSD says they’re going to send you an email when they update your status, but I think it would be better to just start checking from June 1st.

Tomorrow’s the first big day
