** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

@itspat :frowning: sorry, at least you can try again next year & maybe even shoot for the top UC’s UCB and UCLA if you don’t get in off the waitlist

we just have to keep our heads up and keep moving forward </3

Second batch should be coming out tomorrow though right?

Can you double 2 majors that are not relate to one another?

@shiizzz, lol! For East Village I have the same preferences. :PP Except I wouldn’t mind being in in any floors 10+ in Building 1. :slight_smile: I actually want the rooms with 2 singles and 2 doubles… cause those have two restrooms!!

For West Village Building 1 any floor 10+ and MAYBE Building 8 3rd floor lol. Only if I get the 1 single/1 double apartment though LOL. Maybe we’ll end up in the same suite/apt?! :PP haha.

@funnyordie I’m pretty sure you can; you just might end up graduating later depending on the amount of classes you have to take.

I know how you guys feel @itspat and @uchappytrain! I have no backups and if this doesn’t work, it’s another year at the CC. Im nervous because I know you can’t go over a certain unit limit so I don’t know how I can really improve my gpa so I have better chances next year! Ugh =/

@clamfest, @itspat, @uchappytrain: Don’t give up! I’m rooting for you guys :slight_smile: I really hope you guys get in!

@clamfest couldn’t you do academic renewal? retake the classes you didn’t do so great in and get A’s in them, then you would have a killer GPA. And since the classes are the same you won’t add on useless units :)

Btw, just out of curiosity have any of you guy signed up for orientation yet? And are any of you guys planning on taking the MPE? :O

@uchappytrain: yeah that’s what I was thinking, hmmm I guess I should ask them about it though. Just to make sure because I know they said that there was a limit or something :I We’ll see I guess hah

@adriecali thanks :slight_smile: hopefully I’ll find out tomorrow that I got in :3

@clamfest does your CC offer 1 unit UC transferable classes? these classes are like physical activities (swimming, basketball, weight training, etc.) won’t boost your gpa significantly, but they’re helpful

@clamfest

At my CC, you can only do AR if the grade is a D or below. If you have a C or B, they won’t let you re-take it for a higher grade… I don’t know if your CC is like that, but you might want to look into it if you were planning on doing AR next sem. But hey, you’re going to get in this year so it doesn’t matter does it? ;D

@Clam, What is your GPA? I should at least be over 3.00, right? I know some people got in with very low GPA.

I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but can you defer your admission?

Today might be it!!! Hope to get an answer today

Yeah my gpa is around 3.3 I think. I know my CC let’s you take classes again for credit, but I don’t know if UCSD will accept the grade. That’s a good idea though about taking low unit classes! I wish more were offered though haha. I took a biology class on AIDS and got a C so I was thinking that maybe I should take an easier life science class like Anthropology (because two of my friends and sister took the class) and get in A in that to help my gpa :I lol well we’ll see how this all works out. Hopefully none of us have to be in this kinda situation and we all get in to UCSD!! :D

I can’t wait anymore! I am refreshing every 10 mins…

So my email was supposed to start working last night around 8pm…STILL NOT WORKING. Screw you email helpdesk!!! Anyone else still having email issues?

@dostranvia
Sounds like a good plan :slight_smile: when we get the email for the room assignment, lets consult each other haha hopefully we will end up in the same apartment, or at least the same building!!

maybe they will wait until thursday again to stick to the releasing somewhat on the weekend thing.

Yeah probably, I just thought it’d be the same as UCI, but they probably need time to select the next batch.
