@ ThePavin: Oh I see. Man, I’m worried about whythiskolaveri and myself. I only have a 3.49 =[

@iDizzle I called a while back and they told me the same thing “You have no chance of admission if you don’t have TAG and a 3.8+”. Okay, if that is so, then please explain to me why people with 3.6’s get in…or people with 3.3’s get in! If UCLA told me that, I’d understand…but UCSD, c’mon.

I just talked to an admissions counselor. I asked her about the supposed 3.5 cutoff. She laughed hysterically and said UCSD usually aims to admit people that have GPAs ranging from 3.0 to 3.5s.

For those of you who are admitted without a tag, were there conditions of enrollment(like a minimum gpa required throughout winter/spring quarter) ? I can’t find anything on their website about it.

I was tag, but here is the “generic” TAG Provisional Contract.

http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9688/screenshot20120321at110.png

@acoustickitty & chelz: ok thanks guys. Maybe they just say that to get us to stop calling. Lol. Actually my counselor said they usually admit gpas below the tag req. Because the reason that tag can guarantee admission is because they meet the given gpa. Which knda makes sense.

AH, @Chelz, that took maybe a load of weight off my shoulders.

Talked to an admissions officer earlier, the enrollment goal for transfers this year is around 2,300. If you look here, they have been a bit above that the last few years:

<a href=“Undergraduate Statistics”>Undergraduate Statistics;

Going off that document they’ll probably admit ~7,000 students, and if they really have released 1/3 of the decisions (in which I haven’t seen a transfer rejection) then there is still ~2,000 spots left.

She also said TAG will end fall 2014.

@jdom24: Ok, that’s nice to know. And about the TAG I heard that it was ending this year, as in we are the last transfers to use TAG for UCSD. I’m still kicking myself for not applying last year when TAG was a 3.0. I already had 60 units(I have about 80 now) but was worried about prereq stuff since I was doing prereqs for the 12 schools I applied to, and I was taking prereqs for both comm and anthropology. =/

Chelsea McNamara : Is it true no transfer applicant will be notified for the rest of this month?
Chelsea McNamara : I heard the next batch is mid april …
REP - Tim Borch : Admission decisions will be released on a rolling basis.

Pretty much sums it up haha

My brother and I are both transfers with TAG and IGETC and both have a 3.6 uc gpa but different majors. I already have been accepted but he’s still waiting so don’t worry! I don’t know how they pick applications for each wave of admission but there is still 2/3 of transfers waiting for a response. I hope he gets in. I felt bad and tried to hold my excitement when I got the packet in the mail.

@Eitheta Tell him not to sweat it, they don’t call it guarantee for nothin’ (especially when you guys meet the requirements). Congrats!

I changed my TAU 4 times, with the 4th change being the final final change. I got rejected from UCSB with a tag because I guess my units came up to 56.5 instead of the required 60. (two courses didn’t transfer; even with appointments to my counselor -_-). I changed my TAU yesterday, does anyone know if I will get rejected from UCSD because of my mistake from my first mistake in the supplemental application? I have U-Link for UCSD.

BTW, I changed my TAU a lot because all of my courses are fast-track(8 weeks long) and so some of those courses I ended up changing/was not able to take.

Jenny, do u able to add another course to make it 60 transferable units?
According to U-Link, you still need to have 60 unit transferable units.

@jennye313: I think you may get rejected from all of the schools if you can’t produce 60 units by the time of transfer. Forget gpa, the 60 unit thing is one of the bare minimum requirements to transfer to any 4yr institution.

Decision: Accepted - Sixth College

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Personal statements
[] Weaknesses: Received a “C” in Micro Econ, which ruined my 3.92 CCC GPA. Not to mention the C+ I received at UCSB during my first quarter there. Thank the heavens for TAG.
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: TAG![/li][/ul]General Comments: I chose to attend UCSB straight out of high school. After the first quarter, I realized I disliked it there, so I decided to come back home and go to a community college before transferring to a different university. My GPA is not spectacular and I’m pretty sure I only got in because of TAG and perhaps my personal statements. I’m not 100% sure on UCSD yet since I’m still waiting for USC and UCLA (doubt I’ll get in though), but good luck to you all and hope this somewhat helped!

anyone having trouble logging in to ucsd? I tried but keep getting an system error message

I called UCSD Admission this morning and they told me applicants with the GPA 3.7 could not get it. I think it’s for those who ain’t have TAG or Ulink.
Moreover, they told me that they are currently reviewing the applications of TAGs, local, and 3.9-4.0 applicants and will finish by April 10th and then release the decisions through out April.

So all we could do now is wait for April :(

Does anyone receive the decision these days ?

@mangochoko: so when this article: [UCSD to End TAG Program in Fall 2012](http://www.ucsdguardian.org/component/k2/item/25399-ucsd-to-end-tag-program-in-fall-2012) mentioned that they are only going to admit applicants with average GPA 3.9 and higher is basically true. =(
