@Mangochoko: They told you a specific date? The lady told me that it would be middle of April. I tried to call and ask if she would see if I had any missed messages on my application and she replied with “I’m not going to check now, nice try though”… Aw Shucks haha

Also for those posting your decisions please post WHEN you got it!

I thought the next batch was going through in mid April? I was almost going to lay off checking everyday, every hour! Does this mean tag applicants will find out by April 10? My friend last year didn’t hear until April 18 and he tag’d!

A rep just told me something that made me feel a lot better!
“We raised the TAG GPA to 3.5 to make more room for students between a 3.0 and a 3.5, and that’s where we’re hoping to start admitting, not at a 3.5+”

@AB12345, if that was the case wouldn’t they have kept the tag gpa at 3.0? From what I understand, they raised the gpa req on tag because they had too many applicants last year. Maybe she meant that they are making more room to be selective of applicants with 3.0-3.5. I.E.: overall package rather than just a tag application.

hey well idk she literally just said that 5 seconds ago. I think it’s because they automatically accept- without too much review-those who have TAG (3.5+) so they can then go through the 3.0-3.5 people and accept as many as they can from that group…
yea make sense? It makes sense in my head and I think it’s a comforting thought…

i asked a rep about the 2,000 spots left since on the ucsd twitter said they release 1/3 decisions.
they said: “we don’t do it in exact increments of 1/3, 1/3, 1/3…”
and i agree with shrtcakez! they probably want to be more selective on who to accept rather than accept everyone in that gpa range

It’s all just luck which batch you are in. If you are accepted you are mailed an admit packet, but you are able to check online and see before. I got an email a few days after my decision was posted reminding me to check it.

Did anyone else who was not admitted in the first batch receive an email from housing a couple days ago saying that they were having problems and if you didnt get to complete the application to try again?

Does anyone know whether or not UCSD emails students about their admission decision? Or do you just have to check myadmissions on a daily basis? I know UCSC sent emails beforehand…

@flamingopoo: It seems like the trend is decisions come out on the portal first. Than you might receive a notification email from them 2-4 days later. So if you want to find out first than check the portal. If not you should receive an email 2-3 days after you get accepted. For UCSC and UCR I didn’t receive an email notifying me until like 4 days later but I already knew I got accepted from the portal.
