** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

@Acoustickitty123

i dont think its true anymore due to the budget cuts.
last year tons of international students got acceptted.

one guy from my CCC did not complete major pre and got Bs in some major pre that he took. he got acceptted into UCB with 3.6 as math major.
Few others i saw in this forum got rejected with 4.0 with the same major.

I also heard that people were saying due to budget cuts, they won’t be accepting a lot of students. That is not true because Ms. Sun stated that this year, UC’s are going to accept the same amount of people they did last year…and this year there are about 2,000 less applicants. That’s a big deal.

from ucsd twitter: “MyApplication tomorrow for freshman decisions, SOME TRANSFERS. More to come. Read the FAQs linked there. Good luck!”

now just hoping im one of them lol crossing fingers

I dunno Pavin. They said they’re releasing a third of transfer decisions tomorrow. I doubt a third of 15k people got honors/regents. I think it’s going to be Honors/regents people plus non-impacted TAGs.

Do they send us letters also? I like the idea of finding out that way, rather than checking online.

^ You’ll get an admit packet if you’re admitted. I think you have to request a rejection letter they wont automatically send it.

Here’s hoping for Econ transfers tomorrow

@jdom a third? Where have they said this?!

^They posted it on Twitter.

^^ an hour later they made the same post but a third became SOME. so i think they realized that they couldn’t post a third of the transfer decision just after they made that post

edit
that post is gone so i guess they figured they can post a third of the decisions

@salmos Don’t worry they send us letters and email, but i recall that uci and davis do it online

15,183 applicants

divided by 3

no more than 5,061 - tomorrow. ranging imo from 3,500-5,000

Out of 15,183 applicants, roughly 8,000 people are accepted.

so yeah, probably 3500-4000 tomorrow then

Do you think it will be transfer acceptance and rejections or do u think they’ll wait til the end for rejections?

They usually do the bulk of rejections towards the end because TAG and honors/regents people are usually first. I don’t think there are going to be too many rejections tomorrow, if any.

Ms Suns blog says Veterans get priority decision so hopefully I’ll be in the group tomorrow. Crossing fingers

Excited for you nsws1631! Wishing you the best of luck!

I need it. Haha. The funny thing i im completely content with going to my safety but it’d be awesome if I got into a couple of UC’s. Then I have the upper hand. I get to choose who’s worthy. haha

Even though I’m not too hyped about going to SD, I can’t wait for my first acceptance.
