^^I think what they were trying to do is group the new transfer in together so they can easily make new friends.

Because it is harder to make new friends when they already have a “group” and don’t want to add anyone new–which is the case with those who already attend the school.

It would be quite helpful to know if i was accepted or not damn this is stupid as fuqqq

calm down ^ soon enough just wait. i feel your frustration. they are just taking their time with you app

I don’t know what you guys are poopin’ about. Those with 3.5+'s have a PRETTY good chance even if you didn’t TAG. It’s those 3.2’s, 3.3’s, 3.4’s that should be shatting brix.

No TAG, 3.40 UC GPA, Psych major … anxious to hear from them expecting the worst. I have even lower hopes for Irvine lol

Sent from my HTC Evo 3D using CC

its okay . admission is really tough this year, way tougher than last year at least

But if your major isn’t impacted at all, I’d say hey, you look like you have a good chance at both. But tomatoman is right…admissions might be harder this year…but who knows. It was hard last year too but we still saw a couple 3.3’s nontag slip on by.

Really? I always thought this year was a lot less competitive than last year with the decrease in transfer applicants

UCSD login is going soooooo slow

^^ yeah its a lot tougher this year. The increase in the TAG gpa shows it. We should all just be glad that we are not apply this year. Next year its going to be EVEN tougher with the CSU freeze and all. Everyone is going to go that extra mile and write that essay to apply to the UCs.

a lot of people I know slipped through into sd last year. but this year it’s tougher. yes, there is less apps with tag but due to the increase in demand for sd there will be less acceptances i believe.

^^ how does that make sense? less applications but increase in demand? if there was an increase in demand wouldn’t there be more applications? Just because the TAG was raised to 3.5 doesn’t mean people below that is going to stop applying, so saying that there are less applications because the TAG was raised is kind of stupid. I highly doubt there will be significantly less acceptances when UCSD stated that they are looking to enroll 2300 transfer which is what they intended to enroll last year as well.

That was the cheesiest video I’ve ever seen…

Strict RA!??!

EDIT: If not for the village what other things are you all considering?

COME ON SD; we want another batch!!

responding to you guys’ speculation in decrease in acceptances due to increase in demand and all of that, didn’t UCSD state that they will decrease acceptances to retain their prestige or something, so avg GPA accepted into Sd won’t go down?

@thepavin: I would either try and find a roommate and look for an apt or rent a room in an apt or a home. Living on campus costs too much.

@strive where did you read that? From what I’ve read Ucsd is aiming to fill 2300 spots. Gpa depends on those who apply. I mean if only 2300 people apply and they all had 3.3, would Ucsd deny them all in attempt to keep their prestige? Of course not. They have spots to fill.

^EXACTLY. Maybe UCLA will depending on what major you’re applying to. I don’t think UCSD will. Maybe if you’re applying to Bio with a 3.3…that would be a problem. 3.1’s don’t have a chance at UCSD this year I’m feeling :O

UCSD would accept applicants in the lower GPA bracket. Just because the TAG is 3.5, don’t mean they would not accept applicants below that range. TAG being 3.5 means applicants with a 3.5+ GPA would likely get in even without TAG.

I’m assuming most of the people here are either UCSD first choice or at least part of your top choices. Lol.

Yeah, UCSD is my top choice! But hey, if I don’t get in, I won’t beat myself up for it. There’s always UCSB
However, my counselor, who is a great counselor, told me that I actually have a GREAT shot at UCSD…and that I’m 90% in because my major isn’t impacted. I don’t know if 3.2’s will be lucky this year…who knows. Guess we have to wait another 27 gruesome days.

Didn’t it say on the UCSD that their reviewing process does not include how competitive the majors are? I always thought all universities take major into consideration.

I actually like UCSB way more than UCSD. I personally feel I would fit in better at UCSB instead of UCSD.
