Welp I’m late to the boat, but I saw some people were Psych majors and still waiting, so I’ll share my info. I received my acceptance March 17.

Decision: Accepted

Objective:[ul]
[] UC GPA: 3.84
[] Major Pre-reqs Completed: No, missing one-two classes.
[] Intended Major: Thus far, matches Psych B.A. more than Psych B.S. (I’ll be switching and taking the higher Calculus class if I decide to join UCSD) But it just says “Psychology” on the acceptance letter.
[] TAG?: No.
[] IGETC?: Finished!
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Rotaract Club (30+ hours), API Club (4 hours), Alpha Gamma Sigma Club (4 hours). I also created and update my family restaurant’s website. No leadership.
[] Job/Work Experience: 3 years of 12 hr/week family restaurant work, 1+ year of 30 hr/week cashier work at Lowe’s.
[] Volunteer/Community service: All volunteer work has been given form the Rotaract Club, 30+ hours.
[] Personal Statement: Started writing it in the beginning of November, 600-700 words for the first prompt, 300-400 words for the second. Included optional prompt essay. Was well received by the 4-5ish friends, but was never reviewed by a teacher.
[/ul]Other[ul]
[] Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes.
[] State (if domestic applicant): California, probably Colorado by the UC’s residency book.
[] Country (if international applicant): USA.
[] School Type: Solano Community College.
[] Ethnicity: Chinese, Asian-American, what have you.
[] Gender: Female.
[] Income Bracket: $60,000 max family income, $14,000 max own income.
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): first generation, pre-med, first to college, eldest of three, English as a second language (though I’ve lost much fluency in Chinese), part-time worker and full-time student. “Artist” on the side. I think that’s it?
[] Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Probably not, since I’m a six hour drive away. Always subject to change, of course.~
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Perhaps I’m just looking down upon myself, but I see my minority and first-gen class as great influences on my acceptance. I also work a lot of hours while maintaining an alright GPA, despite the many science and math courses I’m taking. Also coming in with 6 AP credits.
[] Weaknesses: Probably my essays? In general, I find myself plain, and I thought it extremely hard to sell myself while writing. I saw myself modest/sincerely honest, and that might not always be the best thing in corporate minded America. Though, all the same, it might have been refreshing.
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: See “Strengths”, aha. c’:[/li][/ul]General Comments: Falafel!

@skeptic51 you’ve got to be kidding me with “seems like most transfer already heard back”? It quite the opposite with UC Slow Decisions. They only released one batch and that was about a month ago on march 17. We’re expecting about 3-4 more batches according to UcsdAdmission on twitter.

i am finally done with school until i transfer. i finished with all A’s. I am so relieved, so now I will have time to visit CC more. much much more. I feel so, relieved, the burden of completing those units are lifted. It has been a very long journey for me and I finally reached the finish line. Magical moment.

Anyways, ANY CHANCE, UCSD can come this week? only 3 more weeks left, and i haven’t heard from 4 COLLEGES, trying to see how that works…

Lucky, done in April. I still have 'til May 31st, then to study for the Math placement test since I forgot everything.

I think there is a pretty good chance for a batch to come out next weekend, there are supposedly 3-4 more and only ~3 weeks left. Plus, it’ll be “mid-April” like they said.

Man I wish UCSB accepted me so that I wouldn’t have to be so anxious about UCSD’s decision. I’m jealous of everyone who got accepted into a backup school of theirs >:(

anyways, UCSD’s decisions should start coming out late this week right? well either way, I hope we all hear good news soon.

Why buy a fixed gear? The pricing is honestly fairly close to the same if you buy used… hell for a few hundred more you could get a brand new one with gears that would be way better suited for long distances…

Also congrats on finishing out!! I’ve got 2 months left
LETS GO TAG! PULLLL THROUGHHHHHHH

Hey everyone…I’ve been lurking this thread since the beginning…exactly how guaranteed is TAG? I am TAG, have above a 3.5, 60 UC transferable units and have completed IGETC, but I have not completed all the pre-reqs for my major. Does this mean that I am in? Or could I still be rejected even if I applied for TAG and met all the TAG requirements? Should I be stressing or no? Also, non-impacted major: Psych for first priority Poli Sci for backup.

I applied to a few other UCs but I don’t think I would attend anywhere but UCSD, I even bought a condo in SD. I mean if I didn’t get in this year I could do CC for another year and apply again, but ugh I am ready to move on to University.
