** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

I got ~3.75 with Region X Ulink and have not heard anything from UCSD :(

^^ I think a 3.6 is pretty competitive for any major. It will get you in the running at least. If you start from pg 11 on 3/17 when the decisions started coming out, all those accepted were either TAGed, 3.6+ or 3.0+ with the regionx thing. Not saying ALL 3.6+ and TAGers got in but it seemed to be the trend. At least no one with sub 3.5gpa w/o regionx posted being admitted. So to answer your question RUFFLZ no HARD evidence such as from the mouth of admissions at UCSD but you can kind of come to a conclusion from the trend.

@asphyiac- i’m an intercampus transfer from UCR and was accepted in the 1st batch

I don’t know about you guys, but I think that it’s pretty silly that SD is going to wait until the same weekend that UCLA is supposedly releasing their decisions to release another batch. It seems like they’ve been so absorbed in freshmen apps and Triton Day, etc., that transfers have just been pushed aside. It’s been what, almost a month since the first batch? Surely they must have more decisions by now. “Rolling decisions,” my rear end.

Oh, also some interesting and funny news on the 10 o clock news tonight I think. I think I heard something on tv about UCLA busting a UCSD for freshmen? hahaha

@newchapter14: LOL. Yeah I think we had a rant about what UCSD considers “rolling” a few pages back.

Yup, lol. I’m not going to lie, I’m starting to get really annoyed lol. I’ve been waiting patiently for the mid-March date. If they really have to push it back, you’d think that they could have just released some decisions this weekend and gotten to the rest in the next batch. The idea of receiving decisions from SD, LA, and Cal all within a week just freaks me out! I’m going to be on edge that whole week! Ugh.

i hear all this talk about ‘region x ulink’
what is that?

@rUFFLZ: It’s for people who go to San Diego community colleges. This year if you had a 3.0+ and qualify for the requirements, you can apply for the University Link

@ RUFFLZ: right, basically its TAG but only for SD county community colleges. Instead of a 3.5 requirement its only 3.0 for regionX

So I decided to check these forums, because recently I was told that UCs were getting strict on acceptances this year.

I don’t know about Region X, but I my acceptance on March 20 (according to the email) and then the physical mail about a week later. No tag, but I was accepted to SD as a high school senior.

^@Objection: Wow, you must have had a really high gpa. Imagine how tougher it’s on you guys. Good job!

@asphyxiac

Accepted first batch. TAG. Glendale community college. So it’s not just SD area per se.

Hey guys, I’m new to posting on this forum. I’ve been reading thread for a couple of weeks and I have gone through the emotional ups and downs of waiting for SD to finally post the decisions with you guys. I feel so manic reading your guys’ posts; one day I’m sure I’m in, and the next I couldn’t possibly imagine seeing an acceptance! It’s driving me crazy! lol So I have finally decided to post, because I would like to see what you all thought my chances were. I have a 3.43 GPA have all the pre-reqs completed for electrical engineering (all offered at my CC at least), except chemistry, programing and one class in the physics series. My GPA in all my science and math classes is about a 3.9. IGETC completed.

@ stormageddon, if u finished all the ucsd transfer requirements and properly reported all your academic coursework then your in!. Electrical engineering isn’t even impacted. Look forward towards your acceptance to UCSD.

i already know, next week will move at a record slow pace. 8 more days.

This school IS boring. It’s socially dead and this is coming from a UCSD student.

anyone here wanting to go to college for the social scene?

^^nope. not me. lol

especially of just 2 years. I’m trying to do my major in one!
