^^ lol. that’s funny. =p

LOL It’s true! Every single thread I’ve visited mentions how ugly people are there. And it does get to you after a while. MEANWHILE I’ve been accepted to UCSB…where the pretty people reside.

@ Actraiin: June 15?! Really?! Holy ****. Yeah that makes sense though. After everyone SIRs. Oh yeah May 15 is the deadline to opt for the waitlist. =/

WAITLISTED. I was actually pretty suprised I thought I would have received a flat out rejection. At least I still have a chance :)

Also waitlisted. Honestly, it may be a good UC with tough admissions, but I always factor in social life and social networking at these UC campuses. As being from NorCal, it is quite a distance from here. I’d prefer a school with better social networking or a school down south that is near Los Angeles because I am more familiar with the area. Some of the SoCal residents may find UCSD more preferable because it isn’t too far away from their homes and they may be more familiar with the area.

Even if accepted, my personal picks are 1. Cal 2.Irvine 3.Santa Barbara 4.Davis. I’ve gotten accepted at Santa Barbara, which I would be totally happy with, but crossing my fingers with Cal and Irvine

@iDizzle yeah they said sometime between June 1 and July 1. =. sigh such a long wait. I hope I get into UCI so at least i’ll have a backup just in case.

Just make sure you guys SIR somewhere for the time being.

@phanee: alright, that’s the right attitude =]

Hey, to answer everyone’s questions I’m an econ/math major with a 3.9 GPA, 4.0 major GPA, but I have out of state units and I took two years off to live abroad, so maybe that complicated my application. I’m going to take a couple days to really craft my 200 words because UCSD is absolutely my first choice. This sucks! :(

@ Actraiin: So are you going to SIR to Cal Poly for the time being? Damn I hate how the CSU SIR deadlines are so soon. Last month i was super worried since SFSU’s SIR deadline was May 1st. I was worried that I may have only a day to decide in the worst case scenario.

I didnt apply to Cal Poly. CSUEB still hasnt given me an answer on my application yet haha. but their SIR date is June 1 as well.

^^ Oh sorry, I must have misread somewhere. Where else did you get into though? Yeah, I still have not received a decision from CSULB as well.

Do you guys think that instead of rejecting people they just gave us all waitlist option. Also do you think that a lot of people from the waitlist will get accepted?

Thank You

HOLD UP. They’re going to notify us of our admission decision BY June 1, correct?

On my 200-word essay I wrote:

“Come at me bro”

Submitted

@idizzle THANKS! Just trying to keep positive :)

So the UCSD waitlist decisions come out after June 1, but UCSB SIR is due June 1. So do I SIR for UCSB and later withdraw it in case I get into UCSD? I heard there’s a $100 fee :(

@ddongxboi: Not necessarily. They want everyone to SIR into their choice of college whether being UCSD or not so they could depict how many waitlist people they can take (i believe depending on major). The thing is…last year UCSD rejected a lot of eligible students with high GPAs because of the flood of TAG applicants…so this year I think they’re just going to see how many empty seats they can fill instead of rejecting a bunch of well qualified students.

@Phanee That’s what UCSD reccomends in the waitlist FAQ. The fees suck. I have to do the same, but with CSUF. Apparently the fee there is like $250, according to the people in the transfer center here at my CC. Blurgh.

hey guys im a bit confused. So for those who have been admitted, was the decision based on the fact that we have enough credits??? or does ucsd still need to evaluate each individual class?? the website does not specify or give an exact answer as to where i can find the info regarding the transfer credits???

help anyone!!!

I got waitlisted. Wattf does that mean someone help me? I thought we had to sir by june first can i still sir and wait for ucsd? What if i sir to davis will my spot on the waitlist be automatically gone?? Wattf

@ lawkling: LOL.

Yeah you will not get your fee back but you MUST SIR somewhere first. I don’t think EVERYONE was waitlisted. I don’t remember but I think there were already rejections(correct me if I’m wrong). But I’m sure only people with GPAs that were marginally off from their cut off were offered a waitlist spot.

See, this is why you need to make sure to decline if you don’t plan to attend. Makes it easier for a lot of people =]
