Kitty, yeah, SLR. Did they ask you like “Have you been physically present in California for the last 3 years?” I got like 5 questions in total then after that it said I was done. Do you remember what they asked you?

I was watching reruns of the big band theory and connan came on and he was at UCSD! the episode was pretty funny, you guys should look for it online or something. They named sixth college after him for a day hahha

I have completed every class except chem 1a. Thats the reason I got rejected by LA and davis. Anyhow I didn’t do TAG at SD.Hope I can get in! I am EE major any other waitlisters? How many are there btw?

^ No, they aren’t. I really like SD, enough for me to pick it over Cal (if I get in today). Happiness is subjective and I don’t know of a way to accurately measure it, so I think this whole Campus A is “happier” than Campus B crap is stupid. I also think it’s stupid when people (I don’t mean you specifically) equate parting to happiness, if you need to be wasted to have fun, then no, places like SD probably aren’t for you. I think each person needs to go to the campuses they were admitted to and see where they would fit best. I know people who have a blast at Davis and then you get those who say they would not want to spend a few hours there; the same can be said for almost any other campus. I also dislike when people are commenting on how amazing a campus is and then when they are rejected all of a sudden it’s such a horrible and stupid campus. Again, none of my comments are directed at you or anyone in this thread, but I see it a lot.

Any UC is going to be Socially Dead, anti-social, have “Triton-eye”, etc if someone feels that way and sits in there dorm and sulks. I think most people go to places like SD putting academics first and are looking for people that are doing the same. I personally have screwed around enough to where that is all out of my system and I’m looking forward to setting the curve in classes. I’ve visited SD and had a pretty healthy social life there with my friends who currently attend. As a lot of people have said on this forum, UC’s are what you make of them. People always go on a Saturday, look at three girls, stay 'til 7pm and then come back and say it’s such a socially dead campus with ugly chicks. Okay.

If you find SB to be “happier” and it’s the better fit for you, then that’s great! I hope you’re very successful there.

Again, I don’t know how they’d measured happiness but where are all the party schools on this list?

well see my 3.62 doesnt hve chem 1a! but i have taken all the math and all the physics including relativity and engr 37(circuit analysis) i need to call the sd rep and just talk to them and see if they wont care abt chem 1a!

With all this talk about UCSD being not social, I would like to state my opinion. Yes, its true that any school will have anti-social moments and it will be what you make of it. However, I want to point out that the student population at the university matters, too. If the university has a majority of anti-social people, it would not matter how social you are when the people you are talking just don’t want to talk.

Again, I’m not saying UCSD is not social. I just personally think UCSB has more social people than UCSD.

@IAmSoCal: can’t agree more. I’m not mad that UCSD put me on the waitlist. I deserve it since my GPA isn’t so stellar. However, to think of it, I would rather go to UCSB. I visited UCSD and didnt get a good feel from it. I simply wanted to attend because I would have to finish less classes but to think of it now, imagine being places in Revelle and having to finish stupid calculus courses I don’t even need. Therefore, at UCSD, I won’t be happy. Plus the people there make me want to hibernate. Forever.

^ If you guys arent going to UCSD, make sure to withdraw from your spot on the waitlist to make room for those of us that absolutely love the school please :)

Does anyone know if there are conditions waitlisters have to meet in order to be admitted off the waitlist? I’m not sure since UCSD would be sending these admit conditions after the fact that the semester is already over. Like would they be the same as other admitted students? I want to know because I’m being punched and hammered in my Physics electricity and magnetism class. I currently have a C but idk how much more i can take haha. I always get As and Bs on the quizzes but when the midterm come around…boom! it’s like some other material that was not taught.
