The classes of 2010 and 2009 just got word that there is a Facebook group for the class of 2012. Apparently there are many disrespectful comments directed toward the rising upper two classes. I would avoid making such comments if I were you and going to start Basic in two months. There are a lot of upperclassmen out there already taking names down (since your full names are visible). Just a warning.

The BCT group commander already has the address of the group and the names of the individuals, as does almost every BCT cadre in the wing. I can guarantee that those individuals will have a MUCH different attitude in another 60+ days.

the admin deleted most of the disrespectful posts, but just be careful, b/c that site is being looked at specifically by cadre for any comments someone may regret.

Thanks for letting us know. I believe it's important that we are all carefull what we say and where. Considering these days you never know who is going to stumble across it.

Here's an embarrassing story.

I had a journal I kept, with most of my enties private except for a few every now and again. Well in one I posted about how I recieved a nomination from my congressman. Well when I went to recieve my nomination, He mentioned that he had a web searcher that would look for blogs and stuff that mentioned his name and that he came across mine... Needless to say my heart stopped for a second and I am sure my face turned red!

While my journal is tame and consists mainly of to-do lists and how I should be exercising more, it could of been a lot worse if I had posted stuff like some of my friends do...

I think it goes without saying, that as soon as I got home I deleted that journal...

HAHA! You guys are screwed! It's ok though, people in my class did that too. It happens every year. The arrogance just amazes me sometimes.

oh, the infamous myspace kids of my year... that was loads of fun! (for the cadre probably. sucked for us)

Livin' on the edge. I can almost guarantee that the entire wing saw that page less than 3 or 4 hours after the comments were posted. A list of names was emailed around my squad. Have fun guys.

What did they say?

All I want to say is that I don't understand why people who have yet to get here are already underestimating the system. The basic training program is organized and executed mostly by cadets, so we know exactly what to do so that you get the full experience of basic. In addition, they should be aware that they have a long 8 months that follow the 6 weeks of basic. Nothing about "8 months" seems like a piece of cake to me. In hindsight, I remember being the most frustrated I'd ever been.

Be ready to try and retract your statements. I remember being angry at people who talked crap about cadre. It's already begun. I can see these cadre getting angry all over again. No smack you can talk is worth it.

That is all. I'm done ranting.

"I can't wait to beat some upperclassmen."

kbd, the topic of the thread was "BCT = cakewalk." I've seen some pretty dumb pre-Academy speculation, but this thread was downright terrible. The worst part was that it wasn't just one kid, like it usually is. A whole group of future basics chimed in with their assurance that '09, '10, and '11 would bring it weak and that '12 would breeze through the easiest basic ever. The thread has since been deleted, but the damage is done. Mr. Duane Hartwin will not have an enjoyable BCT experience this summer.

Could always take a new name and go in the USAFA witness protection program...Not! You think they would have learned from the myspace fiasco a couple years back. New year same wonderfull experiences. Hopefully a couple months will temper everyones attitudes. After all I really thought you would find the young 2011 who asked the 2008's if they hydrated for their recognition buried on spirit hill.

And please understand, parents and appointees, that we don't want to go out of our way to make life hell for the new basics and four degrees. These few lucky appointees are bringing it upon themselves.

I'd remind you all not to say anything dumb, but there's no need. You guys are a good group of kids. You'll have classmates the entire year who make trouble for everyone, and often there isn't much you can do about it. Just remember to support them when they mess up. Don't leave them out to dry. The worst thing you can do here is to leave someone, especially someone who needs your help, out by themselves to face the wrath of angry cadre. Always watch each others' backs.

Well said Petko.

Sometimes it's hard to support your classmates...especially when they deserve every bit of what you are about to get.

Still gotta do it!

Well guys I just checked out [NewCadet.com and they have a thread about being found out by cadets and how it will effect BCT. Some there believe it is all a bunch of hogwash, but then some people got on and said, tell that to Cadet XXX of 09, or so and so of 10 and 11.

I find it so interesting that most cadets are internet savvy, especially with youtube, and I wonder how they missed the youtube episode of the cadet from last yr being trounced on for his facebook profile.

I also find it funny that these cadets are on multiple sites and yet, they believe that the cadets do not visit the other sites...common sense is not being applied ;)

Even on newcadet.com they have shown with graphics that WP traffic to the site has spiked in the last month...gee you think they are not looking to see the new class? The funniest thing is at the bottom of the site there are links to CC and United States of America Service Academy Forums - Powered by vBulletin](http://www.newcadet.com) The links are threads that the site has pulled from there. Todays link for CC AFA is this thread.

Any cadet who hits that link is directly brought to this thread, maybe they will believe you now!

Yeah, maybe some of them will figure out that it is a bad idea to smack talk about their future supervisors and leaders. I have never seen a job offering where that is a good idea!

I personally believe that this is all bravado on their part, it might be also delusional in hopes that BCT is an old wives tale!

I am sure some of the cadets, believe they are already accepted as a part of the cadre and do not understand that they must first pay their dues to be a MEMBER.

I remember when Bullet was stationed in AK, and a young WSO (1st assignment) who just passed his MQ ride was upset that nobody would listen to him when he argued with a pilot that had over 2000 hrs in the jet. His callsign is TUNA (2 thousand to None) So the hazing also exists in the fighter world.

one of our preppie priors sent out an email saying he got an email from a cadet saying that they are taking names down off of this facebook group and are asking everybody to just leave any group identifying themselves with the class of 2012

lol,

Okay so let me get this right, you are to turn yourself in? Now are they doing that to show favoritism and not razz them(since they are preppies) or are they wanting you to say here's the bullseye...aim...fire...shoot!

Or maybe it just cuts through the research of matching profiles with actual cadets.

I am just laughing my butt off on this, because I am sure some have probably already came out and said here I am, my name is XXXX and I am from XXXX, just not sure what the motivation would be to do so!
