For those still waiting don’t fret I’m sure you’ll be fine. 3.5+ gpa’s have been getting in in most schools even engineering

3.75 first fall semester but factor in a 3.0 from stupid dual credit courses and my UT Austin transfer GPA is a 3.375…applied to CNS Bio soo my chances aree?
P.S. did special circumstances essay to explain dual credit courses…

@ Lanvinboy14
About the same as anyone else with a 3.375. From my experience don’t expect them to go easy on you. As someone who admittedly knows very little about one’s chances to get into UT, I’d say it’s easily in the realm of possibility but that’s all I can say. Someone else who’s followed people admitted into CNS Bio will know better than me.

@farhan123 - I certainly hope you’re correct, but one can only speculate how that may change as time goes on and available spots shrink. As for me, I hope a 3.5 or 3.57 and some amazing essays pull me into COLA - Economics in May. In the meantime let me just say congratulations on your admission!

So when is everyone expecting McCombs to come out! I’m getting antsy over here :/, this is not good!

By the end of this semester i will have a 3.36 gap… I took a few challenging courses last semester thats why my gpa is pretty low. This semester Im taking 6 courses and ill have 5 As and one B that will lead me to a 3.36 gap. I am working 25 hours a week as well. What are my chances in getting admitted to COLA? im really nervous since my gpa is pretty low…

@cutieamber

Honestly I think that you have a below average chance. Your GPA isn’t that great, but if you have a lot of extracurricular activities and you wrote outstanding essays, you might have a chance. So just try your best to higher your GPA.

Best of luck!

Yeah, i wrote 3 strong essays (english professor reveiwed them) and a strong resume. thats what im really depending on… Fingers crossed
Thank you @mark1287

@cutieamber Don’t worry you’re not alone! I’m in the same type of situation. I applied to RTF but my GPA is at a low 3.44
However, I have been going to two different CC’s concurrently in order to fulfill my transfer requirements in a timely manner (I’m in CA, budget cuts have been closing a lot of CC classes) so I hope they take that into consideration!
I’m also banking on the fact that I have a lot of film job experience too along with having a part time job.

I’m so nervous!!!

Alright, I have been reading along with everyone since last fall while I was still in high school.
I have applied this year to the college of education with a 4.0. This semester I will most likely make a b which will put me at a 3.86ish.
I am wanting to change my major to business marketing but I’m thinking it would be smarter to wait until I get admitted before I do that.
What do you guys think?

@amichelle
transfering internally is much eaier. it souns like a great idea.

@amichelle I’m in the same boat as you except im hoping to get into RTF. I applied with a 4.0 but I’m prob getting a B in Calculus. I’m guessing you will have exactly 30 hrs by the end of this semester?

Got denied. Sad …!!!

@vinh I’m so sorry. If you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats.

@JebSpring1: GPA: 3.81, 31 credits (+14 in progress). Application to CSE for both majors. My case is much different cause I’m a TX resident but got international degrees and had very few activities. Good essays (reviewed by English prof).

A person in my Bio II class just heard back from McCombs…it has begun

On a sadder note, I am so sorry to hear that vinhnguyentx :[

I really dont know what i wanna major in yet, thats why i put COLA as my first school. Im alittle confused about what i should put for my second school… ill probably have a 3.36-3.45 by the end of this semester. Does anyone know what schools at UT have an accepance rate around that gap?

@preston did they get in and what were their stats?

Is McCombs starting to send decisions out now?

Hey guys, im still waiting as well… Just a few comments to see what you guys think.

I currently have a 3.7 GPA here at Texas Tech and I made a 3.2 at ACC from dual credit in high school. UT has my overall gpa at 3.53. I applied for COMM Pre public relations and COLA undeclared. What are my chances for either of those?? I have already submitted 30 hours because I had enough dual credit/ap scores on top of last semester to make it 30 hours not counting this semester

Also it looks like I will make a 3.5 gpa this semester, is that too low of a gpa that if I got in they would change their mind? Im very nervous about that… Like what minimum grades do you need to make to be safe from them changing their mind.
