<p>Sometime over the summer–July or August. It will be available as a supplement on the Common App site.</p>
<p>Usually it will come out in late August/ early September. Fall 2012’s supplement application came out on September 1 if I can recall. I doubt the sup. will change. Maybe a couple of changes will occur but not the “Why Penn” essay prompt. Each year it has remained the same.</p>

<p>It varies from year to year. I’m pretty sure it was available in August this past year, and in July a year or so before that. I believe it was in 2010 that Penn posted its own essay prompts on its admissions web site over the summer before they were available on the Common App site, so that eager beavers could get a start on the essays before they could actually submit them through the Common App site.</p>
<p>Bottom line: check the admissions web site during the summer to see any info they might post on when the application will be available.</p>
<p>Yuus, my fellow '17ers, it is now our time! Hopefully the Why Penn essay doesn’t change, I’ve been brainstorming ideas for it for awhile now.</p>
