The first dbq essay is worth twice as much as the other two, right?

^ A little under. The dbq is worth 45% of the free response section, while the other 2 frqs are worth 27.5% each

Two questions…

1) what were democrats and republicans views on the tariff in the early 1800s and during late 1800s/gilded age?
2) can I buy apush the essential content in a bookstore like Barnes and noble or that needs to be ordered online from amazon?

does anyone have the AP released exam that is available to teachers?

My gosh, I LOVED this test. I was confident I would do well on this test since I started reviewing, and I’m pretty confident I’ll get a 5.

The MC was good for me, probably 50-60/80. I had the PR to study out of (68/80) and only 1 released MC test (49/80) so I think I got in the middle on the exam

The FRQ was AWESOME!! My DBQ was solid, and both of the other FRQs went great! I’m thinking anywhere from a 7-8 on each essay, but won’t be too hurt if I get a 6. My teacher was a little upset when I told him I didn’t do the question asking for African-American and women reform because that was a GODSEND for him. But I was still confident with my choices.

Overall, after looking at APPass and other scoring calculators, I’m pretty confident I’ll get a 5! We’ll see in July!

Essential is the best but I’ve only found it on Amazon. Anyone find it anywhere else? Let me know if so cause tons of my friends want it now that it helped me so much. Well worth ordering off of Amazon!! Also, I just ran across this free APUSH and SAT II blog with tons of helpful insider info, check it out: [Insider Test Prep | The Essential Resources for SAT and AP Test prep](Blog - Insider Test Prep) Has anyone else used this yet? Do you think it’s good or no? It seems like it’s got some good info so I’m gonna keep checking for updates

I know there are hot button words the graders are looking for, but what if you didn’t explicitly say them and instead explained them. If I didn’t say second great awakening in my DBQ but talked about the liberation of the individual do I still get points?

I agree with acbyrne essential got me a 5, best book out of any of my review books actually only has the things you actually needed!!!

from trevor packer on 2013 apus results, which are slightly worse than last year’s:

AP US History, 2013 results: 5: 10.6%. 4: 21.5%. 3: 21.8%. 2: 27.2%. 1: 18.9%. These may shift slightly as late exams are scored

The AP US History multiple-choice section: students tended to perform best on questions re: “Colonial-1789” and less well on “1915-present.”

Which essay was most difficult for students? Essay #3: http://ow.ly/lZ0IJ 45% of students earned only 0 or 1 of 9 pts on it.

Many more AP US History students (136,000) chose to write on Essay 2 rather than Essay 3 (67,000).

The highest essay scores on the AP US History exam were on Essay 5 on protests from 1945-1975: http://ow.ly/lZ18s

Many more AP US History students chose to wrote on Essay 5 (146,000 students) than Essay 4 (57,000).

Glad I didn’t pick Essay 3 then

Bah I picked essay 3. But I was pretty sure I knew what I was doing, and I know for a fact I didn’t get a 0 or a 1… so maybe I didn’t bomb it.

But I loved the protest essay. It was beautiful.

Almost all of my students did the protest FRQ and only 5 did #3 so I’m hoping they will score well… GL, scores in less than 3 weeks!

I’m going to get the Crash Course 2013 edition, Princeton Review 2013 , Barron’s flashcards and the Princeton Review 2014 when it comes out. How does that sound?

Like overkill…they all say the same thing

guess i completely bombed the exam…since i chose #3 and 4…

I chose essay 3 and I KNOW I did much better than at least a 4.

got the 5. i was pretty sure that i did because i aced the MC and then did pretty OK on the essay, and the AP Pass calculator was very generous

Got a 5! First five ever in my school, and that’s 15 years of APUSH. Feeling great!

I self-studied and got a 4. I thought it would be lower.

Anybody else get a score delay?
