@biotechstudent do you know which professors asked for chalk talks?? I am sooo nervous for my interviews. Whenever I get nervous my mind turns into a blank slate and I literally cannot think at all. Its terrible. I hope I can overcome it. Also do you explain ALL of your research? AHhhhh Its like i could probably go on and on forever if i get into every detail or just say a one sentence synopsis. I am 100 times more stressed now than I was in the application process.

BTW thanks for eveyones answers to the other questions i asked

You should be able to give a 5- to 10-minute synopsis of your research, starting with the major motivations and hypothesis for the project, the methods you used to address the question at hand, and the results and how you interpret them. Keep it streamlined, and don’t go into unnecessary detail unless asked.

You’ll likely have to go through this during every faculty interview you have this season, so eventually you will develop a very well-scripted monologue, punctuated with appropriate analogies and laugh lines.

My next interview is at UCLA ACCESS in two weeks. Does anyone know what the post-interview acceptance is like for the program? Thanks!

has anyone tried to reschedule Columbia biosciences? they only seem to have one interview and its the same date as stanford’s, to which i have committed to already…

Hey SOD7247, I’m interviewing there in two weeks as well. Did you get any info about the hotel and interview schedule yet?

@air2147 I don’t know, I didn’t have to do one. The people I spoke to said it was that bad. As long as you can give an overview of your research you should be good.

**wasn’t haha

Hey guys! I want to know what I can expect for a Skype interview? Most importantly, how far should I sit from the laptop? :p. Like how much of my body should be seen to the interviewer? This Skype interview thing is turning out to be far trickier than I thought.

@SirPrizeHobbies
I haven’t heard anything from ACCESS yet either, but my interview is later in the month

@hsp104 check out this video i found on google [How to Ace a Job Interview on Skype - Video - TIME.com](http://www.time.com/time/video/player/0,32068,46937715001_1933401,00.html)

Just an update, I interviewed with SUNY Upstate on 1/15 for their Micro/Immunology PhD program. My application status was updated to “Decision Made” on Friday (1/25), so I waited until today to call the Admissions Coordinator. She kindly informed me I was accepted and my letter was mailed out yesterday. Woot!

Keep your heads up. And if you get really anxious, there’s always the option of calling them, you never know :)

nope, nothing yet.

Bedizen, all I have to say to you is: “You go, Glenn Coco!” Congratulations!

On a different note, if anyone hears anything from UChicago Biomedical Sciences Cluster, for the love of MHC Class II, say something. I am dying by inches.

Thanks air2147! Alas, none of it really mattered; internet connectivity in Indian institute hostels really suck. Things are not looking too bright. :(

Anyone interviewing with Harvard BBS this weekend? They are so quite. What was the last time you heard anything from them? I was contacted by my host student but that was it. Are they gonna tell us whom we are interviewing with?
