Was curious if the 2013 Acceptance Rates were made public yet.

Perhaps the CC community could collectively fill out the following table for 2013 Acceptance Rates?

Please copy and paste the previous version of the table with your contribution. Be sure to include the written source. Ideally a link to the written source would be ideal, but if the source was in some correspondence a school mailed to you then just cite it as such (ie Source: Letter in Acceptance Packet). Please do NOT cite verbal sources (ie. Source: My friend who is friends with the admissions officer told me)

Cate is around 18% this year. Literally one kid came off the waitlist (for the 2 available junior spots), so I imagine it was a decent yield too. (I was chatting with an admissions officer, so I can’t really provide a source. You don’t have to put this if you don’t want. I am telling the truth for what it’s worth, but, after all, I’m just some kid on the internet…)

Maracas - what is MX?

@bsherewego it stands for Middlesex

Thanks for all the submission so far! Some notes:
- Removed Milton because the stats were from 2012 (not 2013)
- Removed Thacher and Cate few because sources were based on what was “heard”
- Left Middlesex alone. But can someone else confirm the figure in their acceptance letter?
- Would love to hear from Lawrenceville, Deerfield, Hotchkiss and Milton!

How about The Hill school for 2013

Please reinsert the Thacher stats kindly provided by ThacherParent. I can corroborate based on an Admissions Office email sent to all incoming families:

"Dear New Toads,

The Admission Office would like to offer you our sincere congratulations on your decision to attend The Thacher School! We have enjoyed working with you and we look forward to the day you come through our gates this fall. We had one of our most competitive and robust admission seasons in history, so you should be very proud of your hard work and achievement. Here are a few fun statistics from this admission cycle:

• Only 14% of the students who applied were accepted.
• 78% of the students who were accepted decided on Thacher."

@liberty55 (et al.): Wanted to limit the scope of this post to those schools with acceptance rates traditionally in the “teens”. There are other sources that compile a comprehensive list of acceptance rates (ie. boardingschoolreview.com) albeit months after admit day.

@Sharpener, that’s rather snobbish & condescending of u to snub the Hill School. It’s an excellent school w a distinguished history & alumni. You are feeding the lemming-like bias that if a school doesn’t have admit rates in the teens, then it’s not worthy.

The Mid-Atlantic schools simply don’t get as many applicants as the New England schools, because the culture of boarding is not as prevalent as it is in New England.
