Can’t believe some of the waitlisted.
Maybe It’s because of your major? Too much much competition. ?

Rualum. I see that now, the 60k. Don’t think I can with good conscious, recommend to my son
To go there … 150 -200k in debt is not my idea of a Good Start in life, I don’t care what school it is.

I’m prepared to go 100k debt for eecs at Berkeley

Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2

What is eecs? 100k is much better than close to 200k.

Nevemind…I googled it. That sounds like a plan. I guess the ol saying comes into place here for all of us “Everything happens for a reason”. We may not know what it is now, but in the end its it’s better.

Congrats. 100k debt for a great oos school like Berkeley is a great deal compared to others.

I’m really surprised at Stevens wait list so far this year . I was 6/171 rank with a 1950 SAT. I guess the competition has risen for such a small school. It definitely steps above schools like tcnj or Rutgers. I think it has gone above and beyond what most people expect in terms of selectivity from admissions.

There may be another reason for the weird admissions: Maureen Weatherall and Dan Gallagher ‘resigned’ this past September. They were the the top two administrators in admissions. So maybe it is a bit rocky this year.

“The retirement and resignation provide an opportunity to reexamine the structure of the school’s enrollment management division to align with the objectives of the university’s ten-year strategic plan,” said Noah Lichtman, a university spokesman.

You can google the two names and find various articles.

lukelev07 that is scary. I agree, what the heck, Stevens??

Rualum,

Never realized that news. It seems quite shady from what I’ve read. But how does that affect admitting quality candidates.

Wow this is upsetting. I have also been wait-listed, and I was actually hoping I’d get in and they would offer be enough money to go. Now I feel like I have no future. Does this mean merit-based scholarships and the Scholar Program opportunity is out of the question for anyone who is wait-listed? I really hope not.

I think people are jumping to conclusions about the admissions departures. Senior managers (and their minions) often leave corporations together to pursue other opportunities or are ousted together because their ideals no longer fit with the board’s ideals.

I wouldn’t consider it worthy of water cooler gossip unless some new information emerged to make it so.

Stevens has certainly been changing since the old president left. They are increasing their enrollment AND becoming more exclusive. An impressive feat to pull off. Usually you can have one or the other, usually not both. This wave of unexpected wait listed is evidence of that.

Cathyed… what are your stats?
