**2013 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

@hiderekc, wow, CONGRATULATIONS! I had never heard of those water stations but I think it’s a great and very interesting project. I am originally from a South American country, and although I immigrated legally and never faced the same hardships you did, I think you are doing great and only have better things to look forward to in your future! I also like the possibility that UCSD is reading our statements. I heard they skipped those altogether.
You and your family must be very proud! Seriously, congratulations and best of luck to you and your family! Seriously, wow :)

Congrats! I think 3.1 is a new record but obv you have amazing ecs and a story. Well deserved :)

Congratulations everyone

@SBVett Thank you :slight_smile: I really appreciate all the kind words. My family is currently going crazy. I’m getting calls from family all over two different countries ha. I am positive that UCSD read through my personal statement since my GPA was so low, and I really hope they read other applicants since there are so many people with incredible stories. I wish you the best of luck in getting admitted :)

Oh and here is the facebook page and website for the water station organization. The volunteer season is just starting up again and they are based here in San Diego in case you ever want to volunteer. They go out every two weeks on Saturdays. It’s hard work but it feels incredible being able to participate in an organization such as this.

@emprex Thank you :slight_smile: I’m not too proud of the record for lowest GPA admitted but hey I’ll take it because I got in ha

I’m getting an error message when I log in. Anyone else? Also, congrats to all admitted people.

I had the error message, but it went away. Still nothing. Looks like I’ll have to wait until April…

@hiderekc, congrats! That’s such an achievement and you should be so proud. I am also happy to think they actually read through our essays. I had heard UCSD didn’t give much attention to the essay part of the application.

No engineers yet…

@HopingToXfer

my friend got in as EE

he has like 3.87 GPA and all the prereqs done tho…

@HopingToXfer Yup, no engineers yet… We may have to wait until mid to late April to hear anything. I have a 3.95 GPA with all the prereqs done but I applied for Mechanical Engineering which is hard to get in at any school. :confused: Maybe I should have applied for electrical then jump ship.

Anyone get in who is an Urban Studies & Planning major??? I am dying here! I think I’ve logged onto the my application site at least 400-500 times within the last 3 days lol

@SBVett I sent you a private message…

^ just replied! Sorry it was so long, lol!
