I’m also a psych major (B.A.) and I am really anxious. 3.59 GPA. Why must it take so long? however i’m getting the feeling that they are accepting people based on GPA from High to low right now (obviously i know that’s not the only factor), but it does seem that based off these post, the GPAs of the people who have reported being accepted has been slowly decreasing. I’m just saying there could be something to that? probably not though.

Someone asked Ms Sun through her twitter about the percentage of admitted students for the first batch

She said “I’m guessing a small chunk (First batch). Last year (2012), the biggest chunk of the decisions came out around 4/20, I’d expect a similar pattern.”

Additional Details:
Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes, got a 12k/year Cal Grant.
State (if domestic applicant): CA
Country (if international applicant): N/A
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Male
Estimated Family Contribution(EFC)/Income Bracket: $10k
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Yes! I’ll be the guy smiling from ear to ear!

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): I made it super clear on my application that I was incredibly motivated and a hard worker. Also, I think a portion of it was luck since the order is sort of randomized.

I got my UC letter on Monday, March 18, but didn’t bother posting this till now. Not sure if the UCSD Application site had it up before I got the letter; never bothered to check it.

Extracurriculars: N/A (I tutor, but I didn’t put it in the uc application)
Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes
State (if domestic applicant): CA
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Yes

Why you think you were accepted:

Strengths: Most likely cause of tag, but I also completed all the requirements for UCSD and UCLA. I’m missing one class for UCI and one class for UCB, but only because I never got a chance to take them. Major GPA is 4.0 if that counts for anything.

Weaknesses: I’m a third year student at my cc, but only because classes were pretty hard to get and I had a lot of stuff to take; I dropped one class, but retook it once it was offered again; and I got a freaking C in my physics:elec/magnetism which was a major gpa kill.

guys. I checked my status, it is still the same page, but when i check “Housing Application”, it shows this “Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated. Please contact The Village Residential Services Office at 858-534-9380 during our normal weekday office hours of 8am to 6pm.”

UC GPA: 3.6

Estimated Family Contribution(EFC)/Income Bracket: Too much to get financial aid
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): YES!!!

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses):
Strengths: I think my application essays are what saved me.
Weaknesses: GPA

I’m in Revelle College but hoping to transfer to another one. Who else is Econ?

If it makes anyone feel better I called UCSD admissions and the woman on the phone said it was completely random who got their decisions first and not to worry. Even though I tagged UCSD I did not get a decision yet, but the lady said it had nothing to do with whether I tagged or not; so everyone who tagged/do not understand why they did not get a decision yet should breath a little!

I just saw your post, so I logged in to see if I could submit a housing application and it let me. I am a TAG applicant and was accepted on Saturday. It might just be a glitch that isn’t letting you proceed right now. This is what I got when I completed the process:

"Housing Application
Housing Confirmation Page User ID / PID: A********

Your Housing Application was logged on:
Date: 3/21/2013 Time: 17:17:12
Print this page as proof of successful submittal. "

@zomgrad
I was wondering about that too. I believe that’s the form you submit before you turn in your SIR. I believe it’s just to reserve your space if or if not you decide to attend UCSD. Once you turn in your SIR, they send you a housing form along with a questionnaire to fill out and you will be officially “in”.

Of course this could be completely wrong, and if it is please correct me, but this is how I understand it to be.
