I talked to a UCSD representative on April 3rd and she told me the second batch was going to be release by end of this week (meaning up to yesterday.) As you can see from the above comments how people receive their decisions. And it will continue up to the beginning of next week.

Decision: Accepted!

Info:[ul]
[] UC GPA: 3.50
[] Major Pre-reqs Completed: No, maybe two if they count.
[] Intended Major: Visual Arts (Media)
[] TAG?: No, not a CC student.
[li] IGETC?: No, but fulfilled the GE requirement at UC Davis, so it don’t need to do UCSD’s.
[/li]

[] Extracurriculars (clubs, leadership, volunteer, work): film production clubs/organizations at UCD, fraternity, community service, completed a great summer film program with a 4.0.
[] State (if domestic applicant): CA
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: M
[] Strengths:
[] Weaknesses: Transferring from another UC, not CC (most spots are given to CC kids). Already a junior at UCD.
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My UC Davis GPA has been steadily increasing, with all A’s for the last several quarters. UCD is also equally ranked with UCSD currently. I felt great about my essay and had a good amount of experience relevant to my major.
[/li]

[/ul]General Comments:[ul] Apply to a variety of schools, in case you don’t get into your dream one. Seek experience outside of the classroom that is relevant to your major or end goal. Keep working at it and keep applying; don’t give up if you face rejection at first. Good luck!
[/ul]

@science say WHAT?! I’m really scratching my head right now

Yea exactly, I see people with 3.3 GPA getting in and THEY WOULD REJECT ME. I got into UCSB and I am waiting on DAVIS/BERK/UCLA now. *sigh

Can you think of ANY reasons as to why they would reject you though…?

Perhaps because he doesn’t/won’t have his pre-reqs completed on time in a very competitive major.

Yeah, because Bio is one of the few impacted majors at SD. It says it clearly on the website that you have to finish all the prereqs.

Missing prerequisites + impacted major

biology is insanely impacted at ucsd
