That makes sense phew

Anybody go to Tritan day today?

@mermaker Isnt that for freshmen admits…?

So… no decision for today?

Decision: Accepted

Objective:
UC GPA: 3.98
Type: CSU -> UC
(I took several classes at my Community College, however am not sure if I was considered a 4 year transfer or a CC transfer since I’ve heard different things from different admission officers).

Major Pre-reqs Completed: Missing 1
Intended Major: Computer Science
TAG?:NO
IGETC?: NO
Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Nothing Really. A few clubs.
Job/Work Experience: Worked as a Tutor/Teacher’s Assistant in a Math Summer School Program.
Volunteer/Community service: None
Personal Statement: Wrote them literally two days before they were due. (I made the decision to transfer very last minute due to the ratio of CSU to UC transfers getting accepted).
Other
Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes
State (if domestic applicant): CA
Country (if international applicant): USA
Ethnicity: Considered Asian
Gender: Male
Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): N/A
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Probably
Reflection
Strengths: GPA
Weaknesses: Not really any ECs. Personal Statement could have been better.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: GPA, and finishing almost all the pre-reqs
General Comments: Don’t let the stats and/or college confidential scare you. It IS possible to transfer from a CSU to a UC! If you feel like you have a decent gpa, and can truly express why a UC is a good fit for you instead of a CSU, you will get in. Forget about who gets the highest priority and who gets the lowest. Just apply!

[*] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I believe it was the fact that I completed all of my major prereqs and all of my GE’s with decent grades. I also think my personal statements were pretty strong!

Yeah but I still went today ha. Very nice school

I’ve been following the UC transfer threads for a while but this is my first post.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses):
First generation college student coming from a pretty screwed up background. I’m not very smart, but I think that I presented my situation very well in my personal statement.

Yea, I went today to buy a sweatshirt in the bookstore, not realizing it was Freshman admit day. But it was really fun and festive! I’m definitely going to Transfer Admit day now.

Patiently awaiting my decision.

Has anybody heard about any Out of State being admitted?

Congrats to Itay, bhar, leel, gummy and morpha!

Like many others in here, the waiting is killing me. I have a 3.95 GPA with all prereqs done and TAG. I guess Mechanical Engineers will have to wait until end of April to hear our decisions.

@Waterox Although my GPA isn’t as high as yours (only 3.82) and an Econ major, I feel your pain. Seeing other Econ majors out there get accepted with 3.4’s and 3.5’s is not the best feeling

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): Good extra curriculars and a solid GPA. My personal statement was good too.

Mechanical engineering - still no word yet. =(

3.97 GPA
missing physics 3…

^I’m pretty sure impacted majors take longer because they have a more thorough selection process. Last year, I don’t remember any Biology majors or many engineering majors getting accepted in first few batches. My major’s Molecular Biology, impacted, and I was accepted in the very last batch so don’t worry. For anyone with a majority of the pre-reqs completed and a 3.7+, I’m sure you guys are fine.

Were any of you guys accepted today? I want to confirm that this 2nd batch lasts until the end of today…

My major is impacted as well. Aerospace engineering. So looks like we are in the last batch guys, but hey, someone in an impacted major was already rejected so at least we haven’t been rejected yet!!
