**2013 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

No message change for me ><

From UCSD’s summer session website:

"The incoming UCSD students Summer Application will become available on April 22, 2013.

Enrollment for Summer Session begins April 22, 2013 for incoming UCSD students."

Seems like they should let us know before 4/22…

When you log in to check whether you’re accepted or not, there’s a housing tab. Click “Housing Application”. This is the bad message:

Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated. Please contact The Village Residential Services Office at 858-534-9380 during our normal weekday office hours of 8am to 6pm.

@Scienceguy1 True, but they did release the first batch this year on a Sat.

@hermanlcy Log on to the “my application” decision site and click on “Housing” -> “Housing Application”

The message change is from this:

“Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated. Please contact The Village Residential Services Office at 858-534-9380 during our normal weekday office hours of 8am to 6pm.”

…to this:

“The Housing Office currently does not have updated information on your Admission Status and therefore cannot accept a housing application today. You may come back to this link once Admissions has communicated their decision on your application to UC San Diego. You can check this by logging in at myapplication.ucsd.edu.”

So if you get the later message, it’s a good sign?

well I got THAT message…i hope its a good sign

I got the second message too, it seems we will get decision soon.

I got the second message and it has been forever since I’ve had it.

@Waterox Yeah. Threads from the last two years show consistently those whose housing message changes get accepted. It doesn’t necessarily mean you are rejected if it doesn’t change. Someone said they got in without a change. Most who reported no change, however, were either rejected or waitlisted. See this post: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/15831604-post727.html

Disclaimer: I do not endorse this theory as fact; I’m just going by the trends I and others here have observed.

I’m a mechanical engineering major, my housing msg changed this morning.

More interesting speculation. Last year a big group of people had their housing messages change overnight on April 20th and then decisions came out that day at 3:44 pacific time. That seems to be what happened today as well. For anyone stressing about the housing change another group of people had their housing message change and they got in after that clump of decisions.

And in 2011, a surge of housing messages changed at 10 pm pacific time on April 21 then a bunch of decisions came out April 22 at 3 pm.

I am a mechanical engineer. I had my housing message changed for a while now so I guess that’s a good sign.

I am pretty sure I can’t get in and my housing message is remind the same

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): Good extracurriculars, strong essay.

^^ When were you accepted?

has anyone heard anything yet today?

I’ve been able to see the housing message change and I can now see my Fin. Aid award checklist  but still no change on application status!

Haven’t heard anything, but I sure thought we would today. Sigh.

is there a way to check if they have your FAFSA on file and received it on time? When checking the financial aid tab for 2013-2014 I get the message “We don’t have a record that you have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the year you have chosen.” which is kind of worrisome. UCI had his information listed as on time…
