analogy is a comparison of two things like ship is to a fleet as wolf is to a pack. you cannot make that comparison with seeing giraffes and not seeing cows.

Hey, just to be curious, what would my psat score be (prediction)?:
CR: -9
Math: -1 (not sure about that graph problem with 140 total students…grr…)
Writing: -0

Wait for the essay correction
Did you put delete has or add to

I’m pretty sure it was add to

Man I should’ve just taken it Saturday

@casts
I put delete has…it makes the most logical change…the “to” is implied in the sentence and the deletion of has to create more verb tense flowing is needed in the sentence the most.

Back to math: did you guys get two for the number of possibilities for x such that x is an integer, 2<x<8, and that x is a side in a triangle with two other sides 2 and 7?

Yeah I got 7
I’m kinda still in denial I need that perfect score in writing

Are you sure it wasn’t add to!! :(

I put “delete has” because all of the verbs in that particular paragraph were in the past tense.

Man the curve better be awesome this year

Wait what problem was the 3/8 one

Please add!1) aggregate
. cohere
2) tenuous
3) caustic
trial
4) credulous
5) surreptitiously
6) prone to
… histrionics
7) passive
.balk
8) cartography
9)

13)

wasn’t 3/8 about books?

i found the math passage! Can anyone add more answers to this passage?
[The Universe and the Teacup: The Mathematics of Truth and Beauty: K. C. Cole: 9780156006569: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/The-Universe-Teacup-Mathematics-Beauty/dp/0156006561)

For the one farming passage, did you get ‘affects future generations’ as an answer?

“But you get a better view of the subject at hand”

The subject at hand in this analogy was the movie.

“Mathematics can function as a telescope, a microscope, a sieve for sorting out the signal from the noise, a template for pattern perception, a way of seeking and validating truth.”

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the rhetorical device used here was NOT a simile because of the words “can function”. It is NOT comparing math to a telescope or to a microscope, but is saying what it (math) can function as.

Therefore, I think a hypothetical muse is correct. A possible thought, a possible use. Someone please correct me!

actually it could be an analogy…

that question is downright terrible. it could be a simile or an analogy. anyone else want to protest some of these questions?

cr this year was borderline unfair…expecting -4 raw to still be an 800…
redictions:
-4: 800
-5:770
-6: 750
-7: 730
-8: 710
-9: 700

i dont think it could be a simile since there is no direct comparison, and analogy is borderline no as well.

the “can function” as throws me off.

i put hypothetical muse. :(

it was tricky!

I thought everything was ok other than the critical reading

Did anyone else get 3 no errors in writing? I thought I got a perfect on writing. It would be so nice if people could remember their questions with their answers lol.
