anc10308, thanks I was kind of lost on that. So based on the 2012 PSAT you’d get a 74 on Math if you missed one multiple choice and one grid in.

Any tips? My PSAT is tomorrow and I just started

I’m 100% sure the question about the mathematics and similar compared the function of math to A sieve . It explicitly said " as a sieve " I remember that

That of a sieve * :p

What do you guys think my score would be around if i got -1 in math, -3 in writing, and -10 in CR. I’m just trying to be conservative about my scores, because i know i did better than this.

@downhillskater91 I would say 76 M, 69 W, 66 CR. So somewhere around a 211

What do you think this would be?

math: -1
writing: -2
reading: -3

and what other choices were available for the SC question that had histrionic…prone as an answer?

The 16th?? Isn’t the PSAT on the 19th? Or do different states use different tests on different dates?

once again, “as” doesn’t automatically mean simile.

it said “can function as” a sieve or telescope. meaning purpose. there’s no direct comparison. id say analogy would have been the better choice, though i didnt pick either of them.

a sword can function as a weapon.

not a simile- it indicates purpose.

do you remember which lines they specifically referenced? Also some other people thought that analogy was an answer to a different question…maybe they are mis-remembering?

will the oct. 16 psat be similar to the oct.19 psat??

it will be a completely different test…

Yeah but if this math section was difficult will the math section on tomorrow’s exam be difficult?

It will be a different test but difficulty wise it should be similar

“long since defunct” was the only NO ERROR in the Writing section.

@lowGPAhighACT, I think there were two no errors.

@johnstucky, which was the other one?

I forget, but it was about number 24.

what about the surface area of the rectangle and two pyramids?

also what about the writing section: “Yi Fan ____ the novel in fifth grade.” or something like that…

i put “had written”… some that was pluperfect tense lol

wait i got 3 No Errors and so did a lot of other people i talked to…the “long since defunct” one, one that had “122 B.C…” in it and another one
