I said “they are”, though I think many others said “it is”. I feel fairly confident with my answer though.

On the paragraph writing part. Did you guys choose to add to or delete has?

please hep me i need to know how was you doing this following problem where the x was being equal to 3 but it was greater than 7 an
d you had to divide by x - y + x2 to get the answer did anyone else get 3463???
please help me i need it to know this

@Lanie49 I think you were supposed to change “Their” to “this” and “them” to “ambassadors”. My reasoning: the sentence used ambiguous pronouns, and I highly doubt that the PSAT would ask for a tense change like that.

I’m pretty positive it’s delete has. The pronouns weren’t ambiguous. As I recall the sentence right before ends with “ambassadors”, so it’s clear what this sentence is referring to. Without removing has, the sentence doesn’t make sense because it’s not the same tense as the rest of the passage.

@ckoepp127 idk. I think the question asked for you to change in the sentence in a way that would best modify it. I originally chose “has,” but as I reviewed the present sentence internally, I felt that vagueness was the most dire problem faced by the sentence. In fact, the preceding sentence didn’t even use the word “ambassadors”. According to the College Board website, avoiding ambiguity is an important strategy for the PSAT. I’m not trying to start a scuffle, but I would like for you to take what I’ve said into consideration.

Oops. Meant “change the sentence” lol

hahah oh great, well then i did horrible on that griot essay, i had no idea to put so i just bubbled the add to one, although i doubt adding a to makes a difference, but for some reason when i read it i felt like the has one was wrong, but then i think its becuase i read add has instead of delete has… *gun emoji

@Cminman haha I know you not tryna scuffle man! If you’re certain that ambassadors wasn’t in the prior sentence then that’s a good point. I feel like there was a sentence that went something like “The griots often played the role of ambassador”, but I could be wrong.

On the paragraph, I changed “or” to “and also” because the sentence said something similar to “they were able to sing or arrange meetings”.

It doesn’t make sense to say “or” because that means that the griots could only do one or the other, when in reality they have both abilities. Think about it.
Person 1: What are a couple of your skills?
Person 2: I can sing or dance.

That doesn’t make sense; the sentence should read as follows:
“I can sing and dance.”

I’m not saying that I’m sure of my answer, however.

Hm. Well granted I’m speaking from memory of something that happened a week ago, but I don’t even remember that being one of the options. I remember the sentence already having “and” in it. I remember it reading something like “this has taught them to (x) and to (y).” One of the options was remove “to”, but I don’t remember an “and also”.

I think @DumbAndLethal is talking about a different question because I think I remember putting “and also” for one question and “delete has” for another.

oops I meant add “to”, not remove it for my last post.

@downhillskater91 That would explain things. I don’t remember many of the paragraph questions well.

What question are you guys talking about then? I don’t remember any other questions like that…

It was a paragraph question along the lines of which of these additions should be made to the sentence.

Do you know any specifics about the sentence? My memory is blanking but I might vaguely remember adding “to”.

I also put “they are” instead of “it is”
all my friends put “it is” though so idk

Dude I got so many no errors. Freaking out here.

Projected score:

M - 74
CR - 60
W - 60

Selection Index - 194 Damn.

By the way, I was wrong. The answer is “it is”

I was just doing a released QAS and a passage had exactly parallel structure.

What were the answers to the triangle question & the computer lab question? I left triangle blank and got 116 for the computer lab one. Cause the total number of people in the lab was 122, so how could there be more than 122?
