2013 Semester 1 Finals Rant

It’s at this point in the semester where I’ve realized that I’ve learned nothing in AP Econ despite my 88% test average (that’s thanks to one godawful test). Our final is an AP Exam, and even though I only need a 68% to keep my A, I’m panicking because I’m going through old FRQs and I have learned virtually nothing about money markets or loans markets. Or the Phillips Curve. I’m freaking out.

Now that I’ve totally bombed my AP Stats final, I have to say, losing an A you thought you had is a lot more depressing than not getting the B up to an A…

took chem. def did not get above 80. way to go.

I got 3 high Bs to As, now I have a 4.6. Thank god for finals.

finals: when you think you are going to learn everything you thought your were going to learn over the year

Found out I got an 89 on my theology final, bringing my grade down to a 93 (A-, first on a report card). #ccproblems

My Spanish teacher hyped up the need to study hard for the final, then informed us it was open-book, open-dictionary, open-Spanish Teacher, open-cellphone. Pizza cake.

barely got an a in chem. live life on the edge. #latenightstudysesh

I had three finals yesterday, two today and one tomorrow.

An A in my school is a 92, and we do not have + or -. Ugh

My APUSH Grade is at 90, so If I do well I can convert that to an A.

I waived honors English, so I will get a B in there. I bombed a test on The Crucible and it killed my hopes for an A.

Good luck to all studying!

I’ve got two A’s so far and two more safe pre-final A’s. Whoo! 3.67 for the semester. Not the greatest, but I’m having difficulties in Calc and English is complete BS grading. All I have to do now is not get a D on my Calc final.

Honestly, my finals were extremely easy. I had to create a storybook and African mask for AP French 4, I had to do an extremely easy essay for teacher training, I had to respond to a novel, and I had to take a sample English placement test (which was SUPER easy I don’t understand how people fail that.) It was easy for me, I finished each of my finals in 30 minutes-45 minutes in a two hour time frame.

Just got through my hardest two classes, AP Physics and AP Euro. AP Physics wasn’t too bad, 7 free response questions for two hours, not terribly hard, many questions were either past labs or tests. AP Euro was pretty tough, some of the multiple choice was tricky, but I finished early. DBQ was very tiring and a lot of writing was involved, but the documents were really easy to group and analyze. Tomorrow is pretty easy, in English we’re just gonna watch a movie. Spanish might be a little hard but it’s not much content just vocab and verbs.

@halibo, is the class you’re in just called AP Physics or is it B/C? What did you guys learn in the class? I’m trying to compare my Physics 1st Honors class to an AP. I got a 97 on my final :).

It’s AP Physics B, this semester we learned Kinematics, Vectors, Forces, Circular Motion + Planetary Motion, Work + Energy, Momentum, Torque, Statics, Fluids, then we finished off with Simple Harmonic Motion and Waves. I think the Honors Physics class at my school finished momentum before the final. Torque is a really small section, you need to know one equation from there and then you use it for statics. During chapters we usually only get the stuff needed for the AP Exam and skip things like Viscosity and Rotational Motion. If you did good on the Honors Final you should be fine, B is basically Honors that goes faster and goes into Electricity from what I heard.

I got a 95 on my AP gov final, but my grade is an 89. ***.

My friend had the same thing happen to him, Yakisoba. Messed up his 4.0

I just got back my last two meaningful final grades, both 100’s. Now I have to not fail the calc final, and start the rewrite of my term paper.

Finals are done!
No school for two weeks!

Two more finals left but here are the current stats:

Semester, exam

Physics first honors: - 94.2, 97.8
English 1 Pre-Diploma (didn’t study) - 93.5, 84
World History Pre-Diploma - 96.9, 100 WOOO!
Algebra 2 Honors- 96.9, 95.2
Art - 95.1, pending (I can get a 50% on the final and have an A)
Spanish 3 H Pre-Diploma - 93.3, pending and my biggest risk

Final grades are in, and I got A’s in all my classes! Yay! GPA is now a 4.109 / 3.927 uw. I’m frantically checking the online grading system for class rank update. I’m 18/164 now so moving up just one spot will put me in the top 10%.

103.5% Alg. 2H
95% Chinese 2H
95% AP Gov
