2013 UCI tag question

Hello everybody,

I have a question, I am planning to submit a tag to UCI next year for 2014 fall admission. However there is a problem that I found out. Hopefully somebody has a solution or advise for this.

Okay, so I met all of the tag minimum requirements, 3.2, English before submission...etc However what I dont meet is the 3 required classes. I only meet 2 for my major (electrical engineering).

Here are the requirements:

Complete one course in computational methods (e.g., C, C++)

Complete a minimum of two additional approved courses for the major before submission of tag with grades (see column below)

approved courses:

One course in general chemistry with laboratory
One course in introduction to digital systems and digital logical laboratory which covers Boolean algebra, principles and practices of combinational and sequential logic, including CAD methods, basics of programmable logic (FPGAs), and system-level design techniques
One course in network analysis
One course in engineering dynamics or principles of materials science
Two courses in multivariable calculus
One course in differential equations
One or two additional courses in calculus-based physics with laboratory

I will have C++ and general chemistry down, however I wont have any other since I will only calc 1 finished -_- before submission. I found that I could take introduction to digital systems at another college on spring however not digital logical laboratory. Is that close enough?

For any reason does anyone know where I can take "EECS 31L"( which is the digital logical laboratory, online at a CCC?! Or principles of materials science Online at a CCC before fall 2013?! Also, since CSULB has open enrollment they might offer the equivalent course during summer which would save my butt, how would I know if it is transferable? If anyone knows a solution for my problem please let me know!

You have until the end of summer term to finish that last class.

Yeah, but the thing is no college offer the lab atleast community colleges. I literally checked every school on assist.org. Should I not bother tagging with UCI since I wont meet the requirements and tag elsewhere? My top choice would be UCI otherwise I would try UCR.

If your community college does not offer an equivalent class, you are not required to take it,

You should talk to an UCI TAG rep about this.

Yes that would work, cant believe I didn’t think of doing that. Do you know how I can contact them or any info on the reps? Thank you.

Call the admissions office directly at (949) 824-6703 and ask for someone who can help you with TAG. UCI is one of the few campuses that use real admissions staff (very few student workers, if any) to answer the phone, usually within two rings … it’s really great!
