2013 - UCLA - Checking Status w/ URSA

I don’t think you’ll get in trouble. Many people did the tricks last year (guessing over a few hundred people).

@mermeid - do you mean get in trouble for logging on there and checking? I don’t think so

By this time next week, there will be no more mysteries! We will all know. How will that affect your weekend?

Either way it goes, I will be happy!

“You do not have a Financial Aid Summary for this Award Period.”
Majors: Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science
PreReqs: Not complete
FAFSA: turned in 10 days late

I’ll report back in “late April” ;)

This a crazy time for all of you, last year I really didn’t expect to get in, I couldn’t access my URSA account or do any of the tricks some people could, my transfer GPA was below average and I was missing 4 major pre-reqs. I didn’t get my admission decision till the very end when I had all but lost hope, In the end though I was accepted and am now enrolled. I do believe with such a high volume of applicant’s ones ability to “stand out from the crowd” can mean acceptance in an otherwise purely statistical game. Everyone has a chance, Good luck to all of you!

Thanks!

@Purr I just realized environmental science is part of the College of Letters & Science. Looks like they haven’t updated anyone’s financial page for LS. Perhaps on Monday or Tuesday the update will be reflected.

Can you guys log into the Community Housing Office website to look for roommates and off-campus apartments?

Yes I can.

@waitn2getdnied
Your username pretty much explains how you were feeling haha but your words made me feel a lot better!
So thanks for saying that

“You do not have a Financial Aid Summary for this Award Period.”
Major: Molecular Cell Developmental Bio
GPA: 3.67
Prereqs: Complete
FAFSA: turned in on time

no problem at all, yaa i wanted to change my username but couldn’t, i really doubted myself and my abilities last fall, its awesome to look back now and see how false all that was. its easy to not believe in yourself, but the truth is we are all deserving, everyone has a chance at success if they truly care and put in the effort. College is such a great experience, and it really is what you make of it. I really hope you sarah989 do get into ucla and get to share in some of that joy/relief i had last year. and hey if you don’t get in, dont let the hype of UCLA overshadow your other accomplishments. if you have any questions or concerns id be happy to share my perspective(good or bad) on things here.

when i tried to log on to myucla, it shows an error message and i think it’s been like that for a couple of days now (at least for me) but when i use my phone, there’s no error message and it loads the page completely fine and you can check the banner there! So anyone with the same problem and wants to check their banner, maybe try it on your phone!

Mine still says “Summer Session Student” “Unknown” :frowning: bio major!

@wintergreen I got an error message on my phone :[
I will try again later
URSA is down right now, maybe more updates?

I don’t think students applying for College of Letters & Science will be updated until it is a normal weekday.

@Hoping - I was thinking the same thing - the admissions should be closed over the weekend

Anyone know if there are any early indicators for Cal?

@anaval not that I’ve heard of.

Ursa is down for maintenance guys lol I’m so anxious to log in and see a financial summary! I know that as the days go by this week we’ll all start seeing some changes hopefully! :D

@anaval: the only early indicator for cal is the financial aid package, which it usually appears a week ahead of the actual acceptance date. However, to access this information, you have to be a registered summer session student, or a concurrent enrollment student.
Note: I registered as a summer student last year, and was able to see the package exactly a week ahead. Some others saw the same thing from previous years also.

@moon9kittie thanks! Cal is the least transparent one, it looks like
