2014 AP Statistics Thread

Appass .com

Has appass always been right in past uses? Is it accurate because I know the curve changed every year

Because according to appass I’m getting a 5 but it’s on the border, I don’t want to be expecting a 5 and then get a 4

What happens if you leave part of a free response question blank?
Do you get a 0 out of 4 for the entire question?

No, mzr. Each part is worth certain number of points.

@Decimation‌ Thank you sir. How do you think you did?

Using AP Pass I think I got a 5, but I was pretty close to the borderline so I can’t be entirely sure.

Same here!!!

@mzr1998 One FRQ blank is approx 7.5% off your score except for the last one which is 12.5% off the score.

@sonofgod908‌ …off of that specific problem or off your composite score?

@Decimation

What scores do u think u got? Like what did u put into appass?

That was probably the easiest AP exam I’ve ever taken. I was expecting tricky multiple choice questions and a lot of free response questions requiring you to perform a test, write out the conditions, etc., but there was barely any of that. Most of the test could be done with a little common sense! Maybe it’s just because our teacher had been giving us the hardest possible questions over the course of the year or something, but the test just seemed extremely easy. Even my not-so-smart friends who were really anxious going into it came out talking about how easy it was.

@mufc123‌ I agree, the multiple choice was extremely easy. But I feel that the free response, although straightforward, may have screwed me up a bit. I self studied for the test , but I overemphasized multiple choice and didn’t pay much attention to practicing free response questions under test-like conditions

@mzr1998, off your composite score. That is if you leave the entire question blank.

The only free response that confused me a bit was the last one, because the 2nd and 3rd graphs plotted the engine size and tire length against the residuals of the first graph, and I didn’t think that was the same as the residual plot for the LSQR or engine size and tire length against FCR. If that made any sense what I just said…

@sonofgod908‌ Oh thank god, I thought you meant even for part of a question (eg. leaving part C of #2 blank results in 7.5% off score). Where did you hear this from?

Anyone have form G and care to discuss anwsers?

@Kdawg18358

These are all worst case scenarios.

MC Right: 29
FRQ1 - 4
FRQ2 - 1
FRQ3 - 4
FRQ4 - 2
FRQ5 - 3 (did two sample T)
FRQ6 - 2

The FRQ’s are out on collegeboard so you guys can review the questions. I admit that I was wrong about the Monday and Friday question. It was indeed one day from each of the 3 weeks. Screw my reading.

How much do you think the curve changed? AP Pass says I have a five (with conservative estimates of my MC and FR score), and its relatively near the border between a 4 and 5. Can level difficulty of difficulty dramatically change the curve?
