2014 Chancellor's Scholarship Interviews

Wondering if anyone has received an invitation to interview yet (or received information that they were not longer in the running). I was trying to figure out the time line from previous years, but with the new CC format, exact dates are no longer listed for old posts (only the month and year). It looks like invites and rejection letters should be going out soon.

Last year we received the invitation email on 02/18, and selected interview day in March, I believe it was running whole month.

Thanks for the input. This new format is making it difficult to look at past trends!

Ain’t the new interface grand?! ~X(

@jkeil911 And to think that some folks are complaining about the emoticons. I think you found the perfect use for that one!!

Still waiting to hear…

^^Same here.

We are still waiting to hear, too. It’s been 3 weeks for us since my son sent in his application.

I’d love to see your kids’ stats/accomplishments if you don’t mind sharing. Thank you.

My son is still waiting to hear as well.
His stats 2260 SAT, 36 ACT, 103 WGPA, 97 Unweighted, strong ECs, great recommendations

@midwestblues - Thank you for posting your S’s stats. You can’t get any better than 36 ACT. Very impressive.

I’m surprised we haven’t heard from anyone who’s been invited to interview yet!

@EastCoast1, my son’s stats are SAT 1590 CR+M; 2360 total; SAT 2 800 Math 2, 760ish chem (took freshman year), 740ish bio (took freshman year); AP’s English language (4), chem (5), physics c mechanics (5), physics c e&m (5), stats (5), calc BC (5); ACT 35 (didn’t send); GPA UW 3.9+, W 5.0+; rank 2 of 350; good recs, focused ECs with state awards.

Although his stats are good, with a holistic approach to choosing finalists, it’s a toss up as to whether he’ll make it to the next step. He took some risks with a couple of his essays, so we shall see.

Very impressive stats to both EastCoast1 and midwestblues! My son’s stats are 2250 SAT, 33 ACT, 103+ WGPA, rank 1/439, APs, strong ECs mainly in math and science competitions/awards, and good recommendations. Still waiting to hear about an interview.

No news here either;

Has anyone’s status on the site changed from “Submitted, Awaiting Letters & Transcript”?

I’m pretty sure the recommendations letters and transcripts have been sent. The FAQ says that there could take 3-8 weeks.

Mine still says “In Process”

Just received a letter in the mail today that said no for an interview. He still got an amazing scholarship for this school, though! Just not going on for the chancellor’s scholarship. Good luck to those who are still waiting! I hope you hear good news soon.

@amjrmom Sorry that your son received news of not being interviewed, but thanks so much for sharing the information. Do you mind telling us where you live so we can get an idea of when letters might arrive?

We are in upstate NY. The letter was dated February 20. I’m surprised no one has posted that they heard about an interview this week. Good luck!

anyone else heard back on the Chancellor’s scholarship. We are still waiting and the online status is still showing “in progress”

@amjrmom When did your child apply for the scholarship? I know that they offer the application to students on a rolling basis, so did he apply for it really early in the year?
