I believe you have until after sophomore year to declare for engineering. Many kids switch aftger taking a few classes. My d also had Biomed on her acceptance letter.

Hi everyone, I sent in my application for RD on Dec. 9th, and I got an email from Stevens saying that they received my application and would send me an email in the coming month with details for my application status check. It’s been over a month now and I still haven’t gotten that email! Should I contact my admissions counselor or wait a little while longer to see if it comes? Did this happen to anyone else?

vball I wouldn’t worry until the day before everything is due. If you haven’t heard anything by then, I would give your admissions counselor a call. They are very helpful and I have never had a problem getting a question answered.

So are all ED1 apps going to Stevens? Did anyone decline?

My son is going.

my daughter is attending as well…any idea how many ED1 applications there were versus how many spots there are each year?

I don’t know how many ED1 apps they had, but a counselor said that last year they had 50% more ED apps then the year before. They admit ~600 students to each freshman class. The counselor also said that the rate for ED 1 & 2 was 70% and the overall rate was 38% (for last year).

I was curious if anyone declined because their financial offer wasn’t adequate. I am guessing that they are giving decent awards to those ED1 applicants that they want to attend.

@vball104, my son applied RD in early December and has not yet received status check instructions either. We’re choosing to be patient, as their RD deadline is 2/1.

Update… my son received his status check email today.

What is a status check email?

Rualum, It is the email that tells the kids how to go online to check that all their materials have been received.

Do you mean their mystevens account? I don’t think he ever got a status check email.

It is a page called Application Status Check. They enter Common App ID and DOB. The email was a link to set this up.

For the 2014 decisions, will they be visible on the folder wave application? Or will they be mailed/emailed out exclusively?

To clarify, I’m asking if their status check system will tell you about the admissions decision or if you’ll just have to wait for an email.

Not sure how they are notifying people at regular decision time. For ED1 and ED2, they called people who were accepted; email and US Mail notification came later.

Supposedly ED2 decisions were supposed to be mailed out Feb 14 for Feb 15th notification, but there was snow so I think those went out late. Not sure how soon people got email notification.

Hopefully they will notify online for RD as there will be many more applicants looking for an answer.

Thanks for the response rualum! At the bottom of the application status check email it says decisions will not be available online, only through phone or email, between March 1st through 31st for regular decisions. I’m going to be checking my phone quite a bit.

Curious if anyone has received an RD response yet?

Has anyone been accepted to Stevens on RD? Its 9th March. Im so scared and curious on how will they inform? a phone call?or an email or conventional mail?

their website is not very explicit

The admissions page says RD applicants will hear back March 1-31 and the email with application status check says decisions won’t be posted online, only by mail.
