2014 ED Round

I submitted my Bowdoin ED app yesterday along with my art supplement.
Pretty excited about what will happen to me in the future.
For prospective polars, we should keep in touch with each other to get immediate update
from Bowdoin.
Best Wishes for everyone for who is applying to Bowdoin this year :)

I’m doing RD to Bowdoin! I was so close to EDing, but I chose a different school. I am also submitting an art supplement. I love Bowdoin and its students so much. Good luck!

I appreciate the ways in which Bowdoin invests in art in all it’s forms. Students benefit from outstanding faculty and facilities and are called to contribute…

Awesome! FYI I submitted my clarinet supplement as well. I spent the whole summer on that piece. What instrument do you play? Or other fine arts? I am curious about which school you chose over Bowdoin for ED. The original ED plan was Stanford but after I talked the information sessions and talked to gradates from each school. I felt in love with Bowdoin:)
Hope you get into your first choice too. There are just many excellent schools to choose from.

My daughter applied ED to Bowdoin, and submitted an arts supplement for theater. Keeping our fingers crossed! It’s a wonderful school. Good luck to everyone :)

[Bowdoin reports a tiny drop in ED1 applications although the numbers are not final (from 602 for the current class of first years to 594 for next year’s).](594 ED I apps; 20% more countries represented — The Bowdoin Orient). Just a 1.3% drop so not too significant in terms of statistics.

I applied ED and submitted an arts supplement for visual arts. Good luck to everyone who applied!

I applied ED as well. I’m representing a country who has not been represented in the last decades. However, I completely lost the hope.

I am so anxious recently as I need lots of FA. Last year the results seemed came out a little bit earlier than the 15th. Don’t know what will come on that day. Have all of all you had interview yet?

I had an interview already but I’m not sure when the decisions are supposed to come out this year.

According to last year’s ED thread, ED1 decisions were released on about Dec 12. In prior years, the decisions were, IIRC, released a little bit earlier. Since the deadline for ED applications was 2 weeks later than in prior years (Nov 15 instead of Nov 1), an educated case would be more around the Dec 12 date than an earlier date but there do not seem to be hard and fast rules on the timing for the release of decisions (other than some time in the first 2 weeks of December).

I have no inside knowledge, but a good guess would be sometime on Friday, December 13, for most schools, since that would avoid releasing it on the weekend. If they can’t get it done in time, it may go later, but at least one NESCAC school that is not Bowdoin has already stated that they’ll release the decision at 7 PM ET, Dec. 13.

Did they request the quarter grades for any of you?

Here’s the latest from Bowdoin admissions (posted today):

For Early Decision I candidates: we have completed our downloads of all known Early Decision I applications. If you are an Early Decision I candidate and have not received an email from us regarding the status of your application (complete or incomplete), please contact us immediately by calling 207-725-3100. Continue to check our website, Facebook page, and Twitter feed for our decision release date and time (all decisions will be emailed).

I asked my counselor to send the quarter report before Thanksgiving. But I think they might call our couselors very soon for informative conversations.

Just found out they asked for midterm grades of all applicants at D’s HS weeks ago. They may never contact you directly. If you’re curious, ask your GC or the person who sends in the transcript.

Yes, they requested my daughter’s first quarter grades.

You guys I’m so scared! I don’t think I can wait any longer to find out what decisions are…

Yes you can and will.

We can and we will. Has anyone found out what date Bowdoin will send us the results. Middlebury’s ED results are already out. So anxious>-<
