Our lodge will start interviews next week. Argh! Still waiting.

@jibler, I have no clue. I figure in the next month we will find out if we advance to district

@juliaax5, I’m from alabama too! I’m from weaver so I had to turn mine into the anniston lodge. What about you?

@jjonesjonny65 I’m from Mobile, Alabama and turned mine at the Mobile lodge, lol. Crossing my fingers!

Me too!!!

jjjonesjonny65: SORRY LATE RESPONSE! I didn’t take the ACT, actually. My SAT score was a 2350 though xD

(1560 without Writing)

This waiting is not fun…

^ I second this.

I applied as well (in Minnesota)! Can’t wait to hear back :)

Just curious…what all did y’all include as your exhibits? I put academic awards, athletic clippings from newspaper, a recommendation letter, and some pictures of me playing football and baseball

Luckily, my lodge seemed well aware of this scholarship. I turned mine in two hours before the deadline and I was the fifth one from my lodge to turn one in. I happened to give it to the member in charge of scholarships. He explained to me thoroughly the process that will happen next. They say they send the top 3 from each gender to the next stage. Well, with only 5 apps and with a resume and application as long as mine, I feel confident I will at least make it to the regional round :)

Thesportsman : that’s great! My lodge had like 40 turned it but on the bright side, I have a decent act score (27), 3.95 gpa, rigorous class schedule, and alot of extracurricular activities and community service. Plus, if I had to guess, I bet atleast 25 of those turned in to my lodge were girls. So I have a good shot at being one of the three for the boys

The lodge I turned it into (in NJ) didn’t seem to have many applicants, which I’m happy about. (My local lodge in NYC wasn’t picking up the phone when I called multiple times so I hopped on a bus from the Port Authority.)

I called in last night to see when my lodge would release nominations, and apparently there were so many applicants that the prospective date is mid-January.

U G H. >:(

I keep forgetting they split the judging by gender.

& mid-January? That’s such a long wait… Hopefully it’ll be worth the wait…

Wow, mid January is a long time. Maybe it’ll be worth the wait though I guess I’m gonna call my lodge to see when judging will be complete and winners will be notified. I’m getting too anxious

Where is everyone here applying for colleges?

I think the timeline really varies by lodge. I received a phone call on Friday to be interviewed today at my lodge along with the four other applicants. Hopefully get a phone call soon with results!

I think I’ll give them some time and call by the beginning of January, if they don’t send out any news before then.

I’m not applying anywhere too fancy:
University of Texas at Austin
Texas A&M University
Texas A&M University–Kingsville

I’m figuring y’all can guess my home state.

The guy at the lodge was NOT chatty when I turned in my application, so I have no idea how many applicants there were. I suspect there quite a bit because it’s the only lodge in the vicinity and is in a large metro area. I have a good ACT score (33) and will score high in the financial need area. I think my essay was strong as well. However, I didn’t include exhibits (I didn’t really know what to put - which makes me angry now because my physics teacher and biotech teacher would have written kick ass recs) and I don’t have a lot of work experience / community service. I’m hopeful, but not really expecting anything.

I live in KS. I’ve applied to University of Kansas, Cal Poly SLO, and Maine. Considered Texas A&M but didn’t like the essay prompts, lol.
