@UCprincess I did TAG as well and haven’t heard back. HOWEVER, other TAG applicants did hear back. I do agree with you tho… I think all TAG applicants should be notified first. What if our TAG

Was denied or something?! Like it became invalid?? D:

@JN1994 Honestly, I wouldn’t be too concerned about that. 'Cause you can only apply TAG if you’re a strong applicant anyway, that’s why they have the program in place. So if you’re applying as a 3.5+ student with your IGETC complete in a non-impacted major then there’s no reason you shouldn’t be accepted. It says on the TAG page that even if they reject your TAG you’ll still be processed as a regular applicant and even as a regular applicant you’re still sitting pretty, ya know?

There are plenty of other people who applied TAG who haven’t heard back (me!) and I’m sure this thought has crossed all of our minds.

In last year’s thread some person said they were rejected even though they were a TAG applicant and they called the school and it was a fluke! Apparently UCSD is infamous for fracking up their admissions decisions. That would make me so upset!

I’m so glad my TAG for UCSD has been approved and I’ve been accepted already. I can’t tell you how great it feels. It’s this beautiful mixture of success, triumph, and chocolate. It must be awful for you people waiting.

Well, thanks for rubbing that in @socaltransfer14 ! Hahaha jk, yes it is awful.

I feel like I keep telling myself I’m not worried, but this morning I woke up completely anxious that I didn’t have enough credits at my CC to apply as a TAG applicant. Because I’d convinced myself that 3+3+3 equals 6.

This wait is doing something to me.

Yeah how sad for all of you. On the upside, if you get in you can come on here after and look at all the people moping around, crying for an application decision and then you’ll think:

Haha I’m not crazy like them!

Man UCSD is killing me! I’m dying to know! It’s my number one choice. Hopefully we all hear back soon before we die from a stroke lol!

This is the last year for TaG at UCSD. Honestly speaking, does TAG guarantee a spot? I don’t think so…I have Tag as well, and even my counselors are confused. They told me I am in basically, unless I mess up my gpa or something, but no one knows. I am confused why counselors don’t know the answers to these questions. I stormed into the counseling office with all my questions and self-planned course schedules, and they were all like ■■■. We here on CC would thrive as college counselors/admissions counselors! In this thread, people are doing statistical analysis even to figure out probable release dates! It is great to see other obsessed people, like myself, on here.

@ccnube holy crap man. Don’t even begin with counselors. The counselors at my CC are stupid as ■■■■. They don’t know ■■■■.

@ccnube yes TAG or Transfer Admissions Guarantee means that you will automatically be accepted to the school given you meet and abide by the requirements they set as well as have applied as through the TAG application

I didn’t even rely on counselors at all in my CC and still managed. Maybe I went to them once or twice to do an “academic planning” just to boost my reg. date up but in all other things, they’re useless. Their lunch break = 10am-2pm in most cases, “work” for the next two hours, then go home. Meh. /rant

Even college confidential is more informative and helpful than them, haha.

Haha, so true! I know people who couldn’t apply until next year due to the screw-ups of the counselors…then again, my mentality is if I end up not being able to apply anywhere this year (whether they tell me wrong info or not), it is my fault.

Assist.org was my counselor hahahahha

Soooo I’m kinda pissed. I know I submitted my TAU on January 13th but on my UC application it says I didn’t submit it until the first of February… What the ■■■■?!

@taylorsams13 you better contact them… you might have done an update again …

really? well i do agree that some counselors are absolutely useless, ive found a select few that have been extremely helpful and got me to where i am now. i guess it depends on the school.

@taylorsams13 , you probably updated it twice and so it shows the most recent date you updated it. If you submitted it on the 13th you should be fine because UC’s can see that.

I only updated it once… I’m so confused… I dunno what to tell them. I did it the same day as my SDSU application update. There’s literally nothing to update though as I never took any classes this school year… So it took me no time to do it.

what’s the trend like @UCSD on their decision process?
