Yeah…I’ve been checking at least 3 times a day to see if my status changed. They don’t send an email right?

They send it out in batches. March 17th, April 5th, April 20th, were what happened last year.

Not sure about this year but last year they sent out decisions to engineering majors at the last moment. like late April. Hope this will help those who still waiting. I am a 2013 transfer student.

@Marmaneous, they did send an email a week after the acceptance showed up in the portal. Have not received anything in the mail yet.

I spoke to the UCSD rep that came to my campus today and she told me that the next batch comes out in the first week of April.

Additionally she told me that admissions reps do take personal statements into account if you are considered disadvantaged like you’re returning to school after a long lapse, your a single parent, foster youth/ward of court, or a few other reasons.

Thanks for the info!!! @Matt4200 . Man, You are everywhere on here. Thanks by the way for your UCSB info! Seems like you have great FA.

Ah! Hoping I am in the 2nd batch. I applied with 3.6 but then it went down to a 3.44 GPA (because of Fall 2013 semester)…

So I have:
3.44 GPA,
completeing Honors Program,
completed IGETC
Major: Anthropology
About 5-7 extra credit things (200+ volunteer hours, research conference, ASFG group etc)
Worked 25-30 hrs throughout all my semesters

My friend got hers already… so that made me extra nervous.
AHHHHHHHHH NERVOUS!

I am so nervous that I have not heard back from UCSD while some of my friends have already did. I also TAG UCSD. Please, give me the chance!

@comic123 were in the same boat, buddy.

Hopefully batch #2 comes next week! Good luck everyone!

Have any of the accepted transfer students received the welcome packet in the mail yet?

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): Due to personal circumstances, my cumulative GPA dropped from a 4.0 to 3.67 during Spring 2013. Due to the same personal circumstances, I also decided to take a little time off school and switch majors. While the GPA drop wasn’t a life-ruiner, the two classes I got "C"s in were from the math department. I think the TAG might have saved me. I’m still worried about grad school in my field because of those two classes, so I’ll really have to prove myself at UCSD in order to make the cut. Wish me luck!

@MrHerbert, do you check regualrly, when did you get accepted?

@RCLA325
Nope, not yet.

@RCLA325 yes, my daughter got hers in the mail today & it’s cute. She was excited now that this is the school she has decided upon. She was accepted in the first batch. They also emailed her a week after she saw it in the portal to let her know.

If my GPA is borderline (3.509) and if I fall short of the 3.5 minimum GPA after spring what happens? If they accept me based on TAG and I get in (hopefully) but then my GPA drops below TAG requirements after they accepted me, do they revoke my admission and re-evaluate me as a regular applicant, or how does that work?

@Marmaneous As long as you have a 3.5 GPA after the fall semester of 2014, then you are fine. You just have to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher through spring.

@CollegeDropout1 - Where are you getting your info??

This is from the UCSD TAG agreement, “3.5 by end of fall 2013 and maintained through spring 2014.”

So if you drop below a 3.5 at any time from when you submit the app to the end of spring your TAG will be revoked and you will be thrown into the normal process, that being said with a 3.48 you are still pretty competitive and will likely get in without the TAG.

@Matt4200 You misunderstood me. I said, “As long as you have a 3.5 GPA AFTER the fall semester of 2014, then you are fine”. Here, just read this post: <a href=“Can an admission decision be revoke if TAG requirements are not met? - UC Transfers - College Confidential Forums”>Can an admission decision be revoke if TAG requirements are not met? - UC Transfers - College Confidential Forums;
